Fixtures out

As usual the fixtures are not out until mid/late july,a full 3/4 weeks before the season.

Why on earth can the league not get the fixtures out by Mid June,a full month after they know the make up of the leagues for the coming season.

It would benefit the fans and not leave everything as a rush in terms of organising things,plus we would know where we were going on the first game,giving us time to organise any accomodation should be get a decent away game first up.

Surely this would be easier on everyone but somehow the league and FA seem to think not.

Interestingly,the FA premiership has just finished and their fixtures are out tomorrow i believe.Just another case of non league clubs being treated like sh1t in my opinion.

Surely its time for the clubs to try to get non league fixtures out early by asking the leagues and FA en masse to do so.

Fixtures can't be done until the League AGM has ratified the divisional lineups. That AGM isn't until 18th June. FA Cup draws are then out early July - and after that our fixtures are done. They were only as late as they were last season because of the Grays situation.

 

I'm told that the fixtures are due to be released on 13th July - 5 weeks before we start. They've come out around the same time of the summer for as many years as I can remember.

Yep always mid july.

Far too late for those off us who like to plan things in advance.

The league should of ratified all this by now.They know what teams are going where,just doesn't make sense to have them released so late.

Surely in todays age,the fixtures could be generated by computer in a matter of minutes????

If the FA Premier league can do it almost instantly then it should be the same further down the leagues.

Why should my mate know where Arsenal or West ham are playing on the first game of the season tomorrow but i have to wait another 5 weeks.

Say a team gets Margate or Lowestoft away from home,fans want to go away for the weekend,if they know the fixtures now then they can book accomodation,some may even choose to holiday in the area,and places may still be available,they probably won't in a month or so time.

How about the leagues start taking the fans into consideration as we are the ones who pay every week to watch the teams.

I think it is about time that the league started arranging some Sunday fixtures. This would attract some of the fans from other non league clubs, when there is nothing else much on!

How about Tuesdays and Wednesdays as well.

Tuesday is a far more popular fixture date for league clubs.

TBH we can't play on wednesdays or mondays because the athletics club have those days.

They also have Sundays. Although we can usually have access in the afternoons, this cannot be guaranteed.

The problem with the fixtures is that, because of groundsharing and other considerations, they can't be done until the Conference do theirs and, unlike the Football League and all the leagues at our level, they don't use a computer. On top of that, no-one yet knows who will be in what league thanks to the Rushden business and assorted other factors. The FA Cup and Trophy draws shouldn't affect league fixture planning, though, as everyone at our level knows which date they start. Anyway, all being well, July 13th is the big day; 38 days before the start of the season, which should be ample time to make any travel arrangements. Most of us managed to get to Bideford (and many people stayed overnight there) at considerably shorter notice!

I agree that it's hard for the leagues to be done because of clubs going to the wall and the fact they don't use computers,but here's a couple of pointers to help them

 

1) use a computer,it's 2011 after all,not 1971

2) tell the FA to regulate clubs properly and we won't have clubs going to the wall all over the place
