if you just dont like padbury just say

I didn't say that I didn't like Padbury, why wouldn't I, I'm only asking what will happen if they can't play at Ford Meadow next season that's all

the land lord has give buckingham till friday to move out . he wants to sell the land he has no interest in football what so ever he is a jew from london . this is horrible for buckingham after 128 years they just dont have the money . after lots of meetings phill smith the padbury chairman has put a offer in to by the land from him so it is just a waiting game . he also offered 2 pay the 22k for them. if we lose ford meadow this week it will be the end of both clubs unless they can find some were else to play but just a guess not one ssml club will help padbury out lol years of hard work down the pan . i will always tell it how it is so if anyone wants to ask me anything about this horrible time feel free as we are days away from losing our football club

Rhodes, that post wasn't aimed at whether you liked Padbury or not from Champions...CBT wrote the post, think we've got his card marked and it's sour grapes on his part.

Surely if it came to it you could continue in Div 2 at your Padbury pitch until something else can be arranged?

Had CBT added the likes of Aylesbury Utd, AFC Dunstable, Hadley, Hatfield, Wodson Park, Tik Tok, Crawley Gteen to name a view to his post then it would have been valid.

From what Craig has written above you can see the plight Padbury face, a few like CBT may get their wish yet, knowing what Craig and Phil have done to get the club this far you wouldn't wish it on your worse enemy, and for BTFC to lose their home after 128 years it's so sad.

If the worse happens a minority will gloat, the majority will sympathise, for Craig and Phil's sake, and all the players I just hope neither is the case.

Those who know them will know they are top people

Craig I can sympathize with what you are going through right now, I wouldn't want this to happen any football club at any level!! I really hope you can get things sorted as you have deserved to have a crack at Div 1 and possibly/probably higher!! Also feel deeply sorry for Town and can't believe a very prestigious club are almost at folding point! Surely something can be arranged to help you both out and hopefully this guy will do the right thing and sell the ground to Phil so a football man can once again be in charge of a football ground! Best of luck mate and will keep my fingers crossed for you both!!

Believe BTFC have provisionally got a grounshare with Brackley, so at least they'd have something worse case.

Thats good, worst case as Neutral fan said could another season at Padbury while sorting a ground out in MK for instance be viable, perhaps your membership in Div 1 could be "suspended" Tik Tok style? Could old Shenley and Loughton ground be developed? Good clubhouse and changing rooms I seem to recall.

Good of you to give that honest update. Let's hope that the owner either relents or agrees to sell to Mr Smith.

I had several tussles with Buckingham Town in the late 80's /early 90's and have great affection for Ford Meadow. Ironically, Buckingham were one of the first clubs to miss out on promotion because of strict interpretation of the rules on groundsharing. They won promotion to the Southern Premier as champions of Div 1 South, but Ford Meadow wasn't acceptable. They were refused permission to groundshare (I believe it might have been at Aylesbury, can't remember), as groundshares were only permitted as a temporary measure, while their own ground was improved or a new ground built. So they had to stay in Div 1 South. This situation has now reached the ridiculous level where nowadays anybody can go and play anywhere with no prospect of ever getting their own up to standard ground, move on up the pyramid while playing in front of one man and a dog.

There was supposed to be a condition in the National League's System rules that a club's name should reflect the name of the town or area that the club represents! What a joke that quickly became!

Well good luck to Padbury & full respect for the Chairman for having the balls to back up his plans with hard cash.

On the subject of the landlord at Ford Meadow, shouldn't there be a Fit & Proper persons test to buy sports grounds, as there now is when buying a club. This if anything is far more important at local levels. A sports ground should be a hub of a community & not to be sold off for profit or redevelopment. People like that make me sick. If you have no interest in football, why buy a football ground ???

And due to the constant flooding experienced at Ford Meadow when the banks overflow on the nearby river what could he hope to build...maybe a Venice mk2?

NeutralFan - That's a fair point, it wouldn't be the end of the World for Padbury would it and I'm sure they are more than capable of winning Division 2 again next season

Earn the right to go up

BigBoss - What on earth are you talking about, Tokyngton Manor were a Division 1 Club when they were suspended for one season

I know that it is a slightly different scenario but can you not compare this to Winslow. Why did they have to start back in division 2?

Every team that falls out or does not meet the league standards etc. etc. should have to start again from Div 2

agree had we known we could have forced the "loophole" and got suspension. If the league allow them back in after they failed to provide adequate and in fact SAFE facilities and no they are planning to play in a different time zone practically then heads should roll!! And as for Tik Tok being a Div 1 club when suspended.....barely and in actual fact not even legitimate.

Because Winslow resigned from the League. It was only because of their long history in the South Midlands League that they were accepted back ahead of other applicants. The FA would not have allowed their inclusion straight back to Div 1. As I have stated several times already, whatever anyone thinks, Tokyngton continued to be members of the League, and had not finished in a relegation spot. The debating point which has some mileage is whether they should be allowed to play 25 miles away, with no prospect of their own ground!

Correct me if I'm wrong Horace but my understanding is there aren't enough teams with the correct facilities to fill the spots there are in fact teams in Prem and div 1 who remain in danger because the facilties are not up to standard, so I would love to know this wealth of teams we were accepted over. Surely not more clubs playing on park pitches with no ability or aspiration to improve why oh why didn't the league accept them? And what exactly is the rule on groundshare? My understanding is that it must have been in place for a full season. Is there not a rule on distance and area and I would point out that the 25 miles is as the crow fly's not via road!
