Recommended Posts

whooooooooops at least your paying ATTENTION...

So I will start again..£3000 for one team..which makes .. I sarted so ill finish.. £6000 for both teams.

When you look at the figures, you have your £2000 for your reserves (if that is how much it costs)

and £4000 to run 2 youth teams..

hmmmm

Nightwatchman so you charge £150 for any Youth Team Player to sign up for your Club, suprised you have any takers in this day and age.Take off,League Fees,Cup Fees,Officials Fees,Hospitality Fees,Lighting,Maintenance, your estimated £2000 would see you Bankrupt,if you ran a Reserve side.Youth Leagues should be played on Sunday's in my opinion, which would attract bigger crowds,Parents,Families,Mates could then attend, boosting revenue to the Club.Youth and Reserve Team Football,is a big Loss Leader for all Clubs. The only time a profit can be made is u/11-u/17 sides using your Clubs Facilities, including the Main Pitch.

I think your looking at a figure of nearer 4k to run the ressies properlley whatever way you lot want to dress it up we can't afford that and thats a fact. And as for the sh1t about what we are giving to players Kroons ask your (possibly ) soon to be new coach. Smudge is dead right Youth teams should only play on Sundays that way we could all go along and watch them and see for ourselves how good the lads are, i'm afraid sometimes the rave reports we all get about youth team players aren't strictly correct its far better to see these lads playing and more importantly who they are up against IMO.

No reserves eh Duncs. Who is moving in then ?

To my knowledge Kroons nobody but then again what do I know didn't even know Eric had gone to Mole Valley and VP I didn't mean you personaly I meant your club.

I thought that's what you probably meant. Just making sure.

Now, can you and Nice Guy not turn this thread into another slanging match please?

Cheers.

Having said that, I suppose it keeps the topic bumped up at the top.

YEAH I'M SORRY VP. I DON'T KNOW WHY I'M BOTHERING TO LIASE WITH SUCH VERBAL DIARRHEA AND ABUSE WHICH ISN'T CALLED FOR, BUT THEN AGAIN I SUPPOSE YOU MUST EXCEPT IT FROM LOW LIFE ..............ITS THEIR TYPE OF COMMUNICATION. GOD HELP THE COVE YOUTH PLAYERS A LESSON ON HOW TO SWEAR....CHARGED AT NO EXTRA COST LESSONS START AT 3PM AT COVE ON SATURDAYS........LOL !

simple Kroons we don't have the money for a reserve side we were going to drop it last season but Eric funded them but that is not how things could continue, this is what i mean when I say to posters on here success sometimes is merely keeping the club afloat and in the CCL.

SO ALL THIS HYPE ABOUT COVE'S NEW SPONSORSHIP WITH POTENTIAL 3G PITCH/ES ....BLAH, BLAH, BLAH IS ALL NONSENSE THEN I PRESUME ........LOL !!!

The biggest cost is the officials. It's good to play in leagues with three officials but they ain't cheap. Close to £100 a game.

I've done the gate for quite a few youth games - if you're lucky you can cover the officials fees for the game from the gate money, but that doesn't always happen. Over the whole season it's a couple of grand extra though. I know most clubs at this level charge for reserves and youth games, and I wouldn't expect any different, but it amazes me how some clubs don't. If it's a case of not having anyone available to do the gate then that's understandable but even if you have one of the squad players doing it, it's better than nothing.

From what I can make of it VP ( and I'm sure somebody will tell me if I am wrong ) its the officials who are becoming to exspensive, how much money do they get for a standard run of the mill match and do they all get travelling exspenses, what I can make of it they are all doing very nicely thank you, most of these guys probably do 3 or 4 games each week, will they be having thier money dropped or taken away completely I don't think so.

I hate it when clubs disband their reserve sides just to fund the budget for the first team. Not saying this is the case at Cove but i've seen it done many times before and in some cases it kills the club and you end up some nights with 5 at training. Duncs did you consider joining the CCL reserve division? Much cheaper.Just from a personal opinion if it was down to me i'd make it standard for all CCL clubs to have a reserve side in the division. Yes the standard has dropped but if all teams came back in that jumped to the suburban then it would soon rise again. Leave Suburban for step 4 and above only.

Its £3,500 to run a side in the Suburban League for a season. Duncs is completly right, the main reason is that you have to pay for 3 officials per game. On top of that you have all the other expenses (food for opposition, and league subscription to name but a few)

You can help fund yourself by as VP stated having someone on the gate for reserve games. Not even all of them, but your local games at least. Even 40 people paying £4 once every 3 weeks is going to help abit, but of course the defining factor is man power to be able to facilitate such an idea.

Some reserve sides this season in the Suburban that I know of (and a few Combined Counties Div 1 teams) are actually paying subs this season. Yes, this isnt an ideal scenario and yes you will lose some players, but what you are guarenteed is people playing for your club that care about it and a reserve team to draw players from when neccessary.

I reckon Luke is Eric's sidekick.

The Suburban League is changing a lot this season so the expenses should be less as there'll be less games. The final constitution hasn't been announced yet but there is a draft that has four divisions instead of three.
