Camberley Town looking for U18s management team

Recommended Posts

NEW MANAGEMENT TEAM REQUIRED

Camberley Town FC are delighted to announce that following the recent success of our two youth teams we are about to embark into a new era. The club will be playing in the Allied Counties League Premier Division for the first time in its history and we will also be joining the Ryman Youth League. Joining the Ryman League will be a tough test, but is a positive step forward in the club's progression to improve on all football fronts. It will give our youth players a great platform to progress into mens football. Tim Pearson will manage the Ryman League team, assisted by Craig Green.

Camberley Town are currently looking for a new management team to run the Allied Counties Premier League side. All interested applicants apply to Darren Barnard at dazzibarnard@gmail.com

I think Eric Howard is looking for a job as we have no reserve team at Cove anymore,he probably knows the youth scene in this area better than anyone as you well know VP,

Very good Duncs.

Anyway, isn't he going to Ash for their new reserve team?

No he's not going to Ash VP and I am being serious when I say give him a call its the youth you have to think of and not an argument you had with him 4 years ago

I don't think I've ever had an argument with Eric and I've known him and worked with him for years and even lived under his roof for a while.

I'll be seeing him Monday so will have a word but I doubt he'd be ready to return to CTFC just now.

I was just gonna post that. Just read it in the 'paper' Twitter generates from the people I follow. Good luck to him and his sidekick, my old mate Luke.

I thought that's what you probably meant. Just making sure.

Now, can you and Nice Guy not turn this thread into another slanging match please?

Cheers.

Having said that, I suppose it keeps the topic bumped up at the top.

One has to ask why a club would drop a reserve side yet continue with their U18's. where is the stepping stone into senior football for them all ?

simple Kroons we don't have the money for a reserve side we were going to drop it last season but Eric funded them but that is not how things could continue, this is what i mean when I say to posters on here success sometimes is merely keeping the club afloat and in the CCL.

I agree that a rerserve team is a good thing for continuity of a young players progress and helps when players have been injured and are coming back to fitness etc, but I think it also depends on what level your club is playing at. I don't think that an under 18 side could step up to play in the Ryman Premier but at CCL level it is reasonable to expect one or two coming through each year, maybe more. I do not know anything about a particular clubs budget for a season but it costs a lot of money to run a side, and it is probably better to have a youth team than a reserve team at this level.

I read somewhere that it cost £2000 to run a Reserve team for a season, so if the youth are charged a fee of £150 and you have a minimum of 20 players that would generate £1500 however if you have 2 youth teams you are looking at £3000 now at a guess (and yes it is only a guess) it should not cost more than £1000 to run 2 youth teams a season..........so £2000 left over to run a reserve team..yes I know you have to put up with 2 youth team and a reserve team using the pitch but you sustain 2 youth teams supplying the club with players coming through the system. that's what i call common sense and not a club that is just pouing money down the drain,

As a result from the above Camberley had 16 youth players playing for the reserves last season and 5 played for the 1st team..

Maybe more clubs need to look at this structure...
