Coach travel

Recommended Posts

Spoke to Ken on Saturday who has said we need to make a decision on the coach situation for next season,in the next couple of weeks.

It seems to be split as to what people do so I will give you all a chance to have another say.

If we make our own arrangements we will have to stick to them as Ken has said they will book the 29 seater for players & staff and we will not be able to change for a bigger one, should we need it.

I for one cannot make many 11am leaving times as I already have work commitments for many Saturday mornings but I can make 12-1pm leaving times.I am not sure we can justify having our own vehicle as the numbers are generally 12-18 to most games so we may have to just carry on as we are leaving early etc.

For those who don't want to leave early there is the option of hiring a minibus which takes 16 leaving later but this could cost £15-20 per head depending on if we can fill it.Aleternatively to most games my vehicle would be available but I am keen not to take business away from the club coach unless it's for people who simply don't want to leave that early.

Price on there would be £10 depending on where we were going, obviously somewhere like Lowestoft would work out more.

I agree. It is cost effective and there is time before matches to settle before kick off. I feel that if we were in the ryman north instead, then I would want to get there for kick off and leave straight after the game for a number of trips. However, if we were in the conference south, we would have to leave much earlier for many trips, so we should be grateful for the opportunity of being able to leave later for most ryman prem matches.

I understand the point about saving money on a shared coach. I also understand the point about communicating with other fans and having a laugh with them.

However it does make for a long day and I for one would be tempted to drive to some of the longer journeys simply so I can go home when I want to in a reasonable time.

Fair comments mate, but I will point out that on many occasions last season, people rang me up to ask what time the coach leaves and when I told them they said it was too early.Personally I would probably leave it but if it's not well supported then it becomes a financial burden for the club,I won't be able to go on the majority of Saturday ones as I need to get back early to work

Ideally like to have our own coach minibus not just for the timings of the coach but also bits and pieces that have gone on whilst onboard...

If thats not possible put me down for a Direct Car season ticket mate

im with kimble on this one

Same. The earlier times are going to get harder for me to get to games next season anyway
