League Two Play Off Final

Just watching the League 2 Play off final on the BBC website feed and keep seeing names I know !

 

Stevenage goal was scored by John Mousinho, who scored for them against Newcastle and of course was once a Rebel, playing for us on loan from Brentford during the dark days of the mid-noughties. John put in some good performances for us but I didn't expect him to get to these heights.

 

Also on as a sub for Stevenage is Byron Harrison, who in 2009/10 banged in over 20 goals for Ashford Town (Middx) before quitting due to "budget issues " and ending up at Carshalton. Lost track of him after that but here he is playing today.

 

And for Torquay is Gavin Tomlin, who about five years ago spent about half a season at Staines Town after being released by, I think, Notts County. I saw him a few times and thought he was incredibly average, but here he is looking to play in League 1.

 

I guess it just goes to show that the gulf between the players at our level and three or four levels above us just aren't as great as we sometimes think. The three guys above probably just have the right mental attitude to get to the higher level. Something for all players at our level, not just at Slough to think about for the new season.
