How is it that people get banned from the forum at the whim of (sometimes teenage) moderators for trivial or trumped-up offences, yet truly offensive posts such as some of those appearing in this and other threads, go unremarked upon and no action is taken?

 

I would like to think it is because the posts say more about their author than anyone else ever could, and not because of a lack of awareness or compassion on the part of the forum authorities.

You know what? I was pondering those exact points myself.

 

Unfortunatley, banning someone appears to mean that they come back later on under a different name.

 

However, some of the attitudes displayed in the posts by some individuals makes me despair for their sanity. They live in a society where people are able to discover for themselves the richness that anyone can offer regardless of ability or disability, or their religion, colour and creed, yet choose to ignore it all and go out of their way to become a small minded petty individual. This often is based on a fear of their own inadequacy. Ironically, they then become the ones who are truly damaged by disability: their own disability to think.

True, offensive posters can re-appear under different names - if they have access to another computer - but surely the moderators are duty bound to delete the offensive posts? They may actually be illegal, if nothing else.
