remember it well mate. Paid a ton for a ticket outside Villa Park and only saw us have one shot of note . (Don Goodman I think).

 

Yeah was a heartbreaker but Don Goodman in quarters still one of my favourite memories. We defended well from what I remember it was a poor kick out from segers and Wreh nicked it around halfway and we were caught out big time.

So last season was all about Craig Bicknell then? And fvck Padbury United? why couldn't you be loyal to the club and stay in division 2?

All leaves a bit of a sour taste in the mouth doesn't it?

Boring....Padbury can continue in div 2...but without Craig & co...what is the big deal this happens season after season at other clubs...a manager leaves(through no fault of his own) & the players follow...why does this leave a sour taste doog?? Phil & Craig tried all they could to take Padbury to another level but it couldn't happen for reasons you know...myself & alot of the players don't want to play div 2 football another season so why should we...??? Afew of us are late twenties/early thirties so why not have ago in div 1 again..(most of us having played div1 before we joined Craig at pbmk 8 yrs ago)

Way out of line, Craig is honest enough to say what he's done and all you can do is slate him.

Why shouldn't he have a crack at a higher level, the intent this year was promotion and he earned that along with te players.

If you won the Ressie league then got offered the chance at a higher level you saying you'd turn it down?

You know Craig and Phil done everything possible to keep Padbury going, Division 2 was never an option, their choice....so live with it, it's done now...

You talk about loyalty, Phil Smith tried to build a football club for the village, when he approached the parish council to invest HIS money into building a ground they turned him down.

The locals didn't even support Padbury United.

After years at the helm this is how they treated Phil, he was therefore more than prepared to find a suitable venue for the club, yes including Craig and the players.

Phil and Craig were ambitious of which the village of Padbury did not share their ambition...so Doog, loyalty you see should work both ways....know your facts before trying to belittle people in future

You boys can carry on trying to bully and issue thinly veiled threats to people who have an opinion that is contrary to yours. That is fine by me (and is also rather indicative that it is you that have "the problem").

 

Just don't expect everyone to believe the bull that "everything was done to save Padbury United". Clearly it wasn't.

 

And any ideas as to why Padbury Council wouldn't want anything to do with you lot? It's a mystery isn't it?

I live in a village myself ( no, I'm not the idiot !) & to be perfectly honest locals don't like 'outsiders' coming in & phasing out local lads. Yet the apathy shown to sports clubs from these locals is unbelievable. Sometimes you just can't win.

I do think though, the chairman, management & squad should have hung around for at least one season to show a bit of loyalty & prove they are not just a bunch of nomads looking for somewhere to play football.
