1st Division -

It's hardly rocket science is it that Winslow United will win Division 2 next season doing handstands unless of course Padbury United are forced to stay down

I wouldn't say that Totternhoe, risboro will have something to say I'm sure also Hale Leys, 61, even bletcheley town could all be strong too. It's an awkward div

Winslow Boy - Yes but what real incentive do those Club's have to win Division 2 if they can't get promotion at the end of the day whereas Winslow United can

Yeah can't argue that but they will still want to win the league that's why they play and I'm sure they'll all want to turn us over

Are you joking?

 

So by that token all the players in Div 2 just turn up for a bit of casual fun, regardless of what happens. They don't care if they win lose or draw because nothing will happen at the end of the year.

 

Anyway, if any of the other teams are consistently finishing in the top 2 they may actually look into ways of moving up, whether that be investing money or finding a local groundshare.

Risboro are working on getting lights and a number of clubs I'm sure could find viable groundshare. Just depends on what teams are prepared to invest long term. If the two divs were merged and regionalised the top 4 or 5 sides in div 2 would all achieve mid table or better.

Winslow Boy - I'm taking The 61 FC as a prime example when they won Division 2 by one point from Hadley in 2008/2009 and by thirteen points from AFC Dunstable who were in third place. Surprise, surprise Hadley and AFC Dunstable were promoted and are both now in the Premier Division yet The 61 FC are still in Division 2 with no light at the end of the tunnel if you pardon the pun.

remember it well mate. Paid a ton for a ticket outside Villa Park and only saw us have one shot of note . (Don Goodman I think).
