A report on this one from last night:

 

Tuesday 9 August 2011 – Herts Charity Cup

Cheshunt (amber/black/black) 0 - 2 St Albans City (red/red/red)

 

Attendance – 77

 

The joke here is the fact that the Herts FA need to explain how AFC Sudbury made it into the quarter-final draw. The joviality made the St Albans City website, when all the time AFC Sudbury were disguised as Cheshunt. The home team played all the good football, had numerous scoring opportunities, but played the last 25 minutes with ten men. A straight red card was given for a leg-breaking tackle, from which point St Albans City took over, ran through to score their first and minutes later rifled home their second. This game means I’ve seen all four quarter-finals and also the smoke rising from the warehouse fire in Enfield. St Albans City arrived late after a scenic drive through Suffolk (another joke).
