....non other than our dear friend IRIS JOHNSTONE (labour party). I have congratulated her & she assures me that despite her new position she will not be standing for any nonsense from the opposition,should it arise.(and I'm sure it will, on numerous occasions no doubt )

Nice to see that our friend Cllr Moores couldn't be bothered to turn up last night to see Iris take up the robes!!

 

 

You are forgetting that he represents Westgate so why should he bother about anything in Margate!!!!

 

I was told something like that by the Tory party when I went to vote in Dane Valley, that as Margate football ground was in another ward it should not bother me what goes on there.

You are forgetting that he represents Westgate so why should he bother about anything in Margate!!!!

Sorry Frankie but you are wrong. Westgate-on-Sea is part of the Margate Charter Trustees who elect the Mayor of Margate. Councillor Dr. Simon Moores as a councillor for Westgate-on Sea is one of the trustees who can vote in the election of Mayor for Margate.

 

 

 

However, as Labour are the majority party for Margate Trustees the Conservsatives are boycotting it. No political gain in it for them.

Not quite true as the Deputy Mayor is Conservative!!
