So, we lose 3 championship challengers in Arlesey, Hitchin and Rugby only to be replaced by St. Neots, Chertsey and Chalfont St Peter with the first 2 apparently having plenty off money to throw around.

I personally don't think it will be any easier to get promoted next season.

looking at the teams and our now pretty big expeirence at this level i think we should be reasonably happy with the teams we have been put with

couple more pretty local games which is good

both Fleet and Ware moving from the Ryman were bottom half teams last season so we at least haven't had a strong performing team from last season moved across

Not sure what you mean Mr Rebel.

St Neots have moved across and they will be firm favourites to win the league. Chertsey came second in their division and apparently have a rich benefactor and Chalfont St Peter will be tough opponents. I would say those 3 are strong performing teams.

IMO to have any chance of winning the league we are going to have to sign at least 3 quality players if we keep the same squad.

If, as expected, we lose Chris Seeby and possibly Simon Sweeney IMO we are going to need to sign at least 5 quality players.

Seeby has left the club, Sweeney is 100% staying put.... Heard also that Richard Hayward and Chris Dillon will be commencing pre-season training with us, also Ryan Bird and Will Dunlop...

Great news if it's true Cookham Rebel.

They are the sort of quality players that we are going to need if we are to make a challenge for the title.

BTW you seem to be very well informed Cookham. How do you know all this information?

I'm surprised it taken nearly a month for silly season to begin!

Until forms are signed everything is speculation.

Tom, we don't know who Cookham Rebel is, for all we know he could be a players father with insider knowledge.

Cookham Rebel hasn't said that they will be signing for us just that they will be attending pre-season training which, as we all know, carries no guarantees but is a positive start.

I had it on very good authority that the budget has been increased and Steve Bateman had a call from Ronaldo - if its a rumor, than it must be true!

Keep the silly season going - I am feeling right at home.

As I said last year and the year before that - its not until the first leauge game of the season will we see who makes it out onto the pitch - until then it is just speculation and hype.

Come on people, can we stop treating Cookham Rebel like an idiot for daring to post a rumour on an internet messageboard? He has not said "HOT OFF THE PRESS - BATEMAN CONFIRMS IT - THESE PEOPLE WILL SIGN!" now has he? He has only said that he has heard something (from who and on what authority however we can only guess).

Having said that, I did hear a vague rumour that the world was going to end yesterday.

We won't know until pre-season starts who's training with us and who's not, and we won;t know until the season proper starts who is signing and who isn;t. End of story.

Thank you Nathan, this is a discussion forum after all, and I'm only saying what I have been told by 3 of my mates who actually play for the club.... Nothing is confirmed in terms of signings but certain potential new signings have confirmed they will be at the first pre-season training session... Mind you, Ian Brown and Jon Stevenson did this a couple of years ago and went back on their word!!!

Chertsey may not be the same force next season as their benefactor and manager, Spencer Day,is apparently not happy with the lack of support for the club by the local community and fans. He has been offered a couple of managerial vacancies from higher leagues and will obviously take his investment with him. Also Guildford City are launching an appeal against their promtion denial.
