When Windsor got placed into the Combined Counties I was genuinely excited about the season ahead. I'd heard some great stories about this league. The last thing I expected was the tone of anger and hatred being thrown at us. When Windsor & Eton were wound up it was heart warming and touching to receive sincere best wishes from supporters of clubs we'd played against over many seasons. Some of those clubs could easily have reacted differently - Didcot Town for example who lost six points and were relegated as a result but no they wished us well. It just amazes me that teams that don't even know us are throwing so much anger at us. As supporters we pride ourselves on our dignity we have a fully operational supporters club we raise good sums for charity and do a lot of work for our local community and we've made huge numbers of friends throughout non league football. I for one was excited to be in the combined counties but if this is the welcome we can expect to receive then it's a big sour taste before the season has even begun.

You have to accept you are entering a small pool. Big fish get swiped at but old timers get away with no criticism. No one has had a go at Guildford during the past season for obviously paying out dosh for their team then waiting until the absolute last minute to improve their ground which, as things stand at the moment, has been a monumental mistake. Meanwhile, clubs like Badshot Lea, Camberley, Egham and, these days to a lesser degree, Chertsey all have people willing to have a go because they have more back up, as if the CCL is the only league in the country where money can count. They are all experts of course. Don't be too downhearted, they will get used to you - it might take a decade though.

Tad unfair that comment Confused - they could only make improvements once Council Planning Approval was granted and their website states that work started just as soon as they were allowed to start. Someone there shelled out £40k so don't think you can have a go at them given the circumstances. They still feel they are in with a shout at promotion - given the latest press report

How long have Guildford been at the Spectrum? Seven years? All that time to get the ground up to scratch and they waited until the last minute for whatever reason. To be honest, they've never had an 'F' grade until now so shouldn't have been playing at step 5 let alone trying to get into step 4. Clubs in other leagues have been relegated for this. Still, it's easier to spend money on players rather the ground isn't it?

As for the Windsor fella pointing out that they are a new club earlier. Can we assume then that Windsor won't be entering the FA Cup this season as clubs have to have played in the Vase or Trophy the year before to play in the Cup?

Kings Lynn didn't / couldn't this season - similar scenario moving down 2 levels from Step 3. Farnborough did when they moved down 2 levels from Step 2 though, so perhaps you need to be Step 4 for automatic entry. We'll see with Ilkeston

[it has to be said that Guildford did well to come from a very very low point with their ground to achieve what they did. Good for them but on looking at that picture of the turnstile, it still hasnt been finished. The roof does not look to be secured properly even now. And also breeze blocks apart, the whole structure looks flimsy. I thought it had to be secure for the operator. And I still wonder where all the money came from. Why hasnt anyone commented on that or are Guildford a special case. This is not having a go at City but just it seems that everyone thinks they are marvelous and above criticism.

Still say the CCL forum is a small pond but a bright and entertaining one. Greggy will come to understand that there is alot of misinformation put about and so not to take the posts seriously.

I for one don't have a problem with Windsor only dropping two divisions, As a small businessman I do care about people not being paid but football is all about the fans and the fans of Windsor are lucky to still have a ground. They won't find the CCL Prem easy, Wimbledon took two seasons the get out and Windsor are far smaller. Camberley, Chertsey and Molesey will take some beating next season so Good Luck, you will need it !!

like a lot of posts on this forum (which is a good one ) it swings away from the original subject ,as for the turnstile picture it was taken before the block was finished ,but the turnstiles and ground were passed on the second inspection ,a lot of turnstile blocks are of a breeze block construction ! the local press need to use an updated picture of citys turnstiles as the one they used does not reflect how they look now and at the appeal meeting ,and as stated in the local press and on guildfords forum ,other clubs have had their grounds grading passed after deadline date so wheres the justice so dont talk to me about rules ,this is my opinion as a city fan and not of the clubs ,and may i wish windsor fc the best of luck for next season .

I agree with Green Pea and others. They are a new club so past transgressions, good or bad are disregarded. They should have applied to start at the bottom of the pile and had a ground fully sorted and agreed first of all.

The other thing I disagree with is anyone that was on the board of the last club being involved in the new one. The old club folded owing a ton of money, that the board should have been aware of. That means they knowlingly didn't pay any of their creditors and personally have a history of it.

Maybe they have friends at the FA as well as at Dorking!!!!

Disgraceful decision.

Been happening for the past 25 years and more FB, no reason to believe it will change much in the next 25. Most if not all of these "big" teams would have left creditors in the lurch then reformed with existing board members without too much thought for those left in their wake. Many wouldn't even have had to suffer a 2 step drop.

If I was Bookham I'd be seething.

I understand the comments regarding Windsor, however why should Bookham be seething, if you finish in the bottom 3 you should expect to be relegated. Too many teams have had reprieves in both the Prem and Div 1. New teams in the leagues will help to rejuvenate rather than the current stagnated leagues we currently are apart of.

For the record no member of the board from last season at Windsor & Eton is involved at Windsor FC hopefully that will clear that one up.

Kevin Stott was the ex Vice-Chairman wasn't he? Although I understand he did a disappearing act last season, perhaps to distance himself from what was coming? I definitely remember him sitting down with Peter for periods trying to sort out the financial mess.

Listen Geggy, it's not personal, it's also only football and you will find that most posters on here (if not all) have nothing against Windsor FC or the other club Windsor & Eton FC, this is simply one of the best non-league forums on the web where anything and everything gets discussed. There are some great contributors with excellent knowledge (Whitelaw & VP take a bow), some with good knowledge and valued common sense who help keep the peace, some that are just passionate and let their emotions run away with them at times especially late at night after a few and a couple of numb nuts that just enjoy getting people at it! Regardless of who fits into which category (you will soon work it out) they each make it an informative and addictive place to visit.
