Windsor FC

Heard many rumors about the lease on the ground but after attending the open meeting last week talks are ongoing with the Crown all be it at a slower pace than anticipated

I'm a bit out of touch with the CCL but don't clubs going for promotion from div 1 to the prem have to have their ground sorted before March 31st? Does part of that criteria include satisfying the league that you can actually play there?

If the CCL accept the above (don't know if it breaks their own rules?) then I guess it's up to the clubs and the AGM vote and if nobody is moved out then the question is where would you rather go next season, Dorking (Bookham) or Stag Meadow? Clubs could cover their 3 officials expenses for say 10 weeks/quarter of a season with the gate from one of those games so there is a temptation.

Personally if it came to a vote over Bookham or Windsor I would hope that clubs would vote for Bookham. It is just wrong that Windsor should be allowed above clubs who have done nothing wrong.

THAT WAS MY ASSUMPTION KROONZZZ, ANY NEW CLUB THAT STARTS UP SHOULD START AT THE LOWEST LEVEL AND WORK THEIR WAY THRU' THE LEAGUES, BUT AGAIN I THINK IT'S DOWN TO WINDSOR'S FACILITIES AND BEING LOCATED NEAR THE QUEEN ! ... IS SHE A PATRON OF THE F.A............HA HA !!!

It needs to be stressed that Windsor FC haven't had any "special treatment" or favours. The FA made a decision after Nuneaton Borough and Farnborough Town went bust and reformed that they should be placed a minimum of two steps below where they were at the time of their insolvency.

Whether that is the right call or not is irrelevant - it is how the FA have dealt with every reformed club that went bust subsequent to those two. Of course, I've already stated here (and on at least one other forum) that I don't agree with that policy, but it is out of Windsor FC's hands and now they've been placed in the system, they should be allowed to get on with it. I always enjoyed going to Stag Meadow in the past and will enjoy future visits, I'm sure.

Beano agree with that but at some point someone needs to stand up and take issue with the policy and perhaps the AGM of the CCL is the place to do it ?

Will never happen at an A.G.M. Clubs only look after themselves and what is in it for them.Do feel sorry for Bookham though, and would not suprise me if they dropped out of the C.C.L. in protest at the F.A.'s decision. Were Windsor and Eton ever in the C.C.L.in previous years. This also has a knock on effect to Div 1,if Bookham do drop there,1 of the Teams who have applied will be disappointed.

This should not effect Division 1 as there were 19 clubs this year, 3 are dropping out, 2 being promoted leaving 14. Add the 3 recomendations from the league gives you 17 plus Bookham will make 18 plus any other clubs that are moved sideways by the FA. Ideal number in Division 1 probbaly 20. Can have a maximum of 22 but not ideal with some clubs not having lights.

I do not think the CCL have a choice in this matter. The FA have advised the league that Windsor will be in the CCL so as far as I am aware the member clubs do not get a vote on it at the AGM.

Must be incorrect Sparky, the F.A. have directed Guernsey F.C. to C.C.L. 1,is there not a vote on their inclusion,or is that a done deal also.

Nope, under the rules of the National League System, if the FA say, Windsor FC go into the CCL Premier, then that's where they go. The league gets no say in the matter and have to take them.

Wonder what the budget will be like there then??????? Will they be favs????????? Will the EX manager go back there???????? Do Bookham get relegated then?

CORRECT GUV IN MY OPINION, I THINK IT DEPENDS WHO THEY GET AS MANAGER AND MORE IMPORTANTLY WHAT THEIR PLAYER BUDGET WILL BE.

AS FOR ME, ITS ANOTHER NEW GROUND IN THE CCL AND A DECENT ONE AT THAT WITH A DECENT (BIG) PITCH, SO HOPEFULLY I WILL SEE SOME GOOD FOOTBALL BEING PLAYED THERE..... LOOKING FORWARD TO IT........ SORRY BOOKHAM.

My initial guess is that Windsor will have the biggest budget while people owed money by the previous club have to go and whistle. Like I say at some point someone has to stand up and take a stance over this nonsense. Why should clubs bother paying their way when clubs who do not get preferential treatment.

Clubs applying to the league that are not already in the pyramid have to be voted in at the AGM (Guernsey being one of them). Because the old Windsor club was in the pyramid the new reformed club are relegated two steps which is what has happened with other clubs in the same position over the past two or three years. As this is a directive from the FA there is not a vote. They are automatcally in the CCL Premieir Division.

At the end of the day, you are all entitled to your opinions. F.A. decision and I'm afraid you'll have to live with it.

As far as Windsor is concerned and the events after last season, many of you would be surprised to know just what actually went on behind the scenes.

I'm not going to expand any further as I am a close personal friend of the clubs new Chairman, and I fully appreciate all the hard work he has done over the last few months. Incidently, he does have very close ties, both with Dorking and with Dorking FC.

I look forward to extending the usual friendly Meadowbank welcome to Kevin, Peter, Malc and all the others I know from Stag Meadow.

As far as Bookham is concerned - YES - I do feel extremely sorry for them, but slagging off another team because of their move to the CCL when it was an FA decision won't help matters.

Incidently, for those of you who don't know, the facilities and welcome you get at Stag Meadow is second to none - Probably exceeds that shown by most clubs in the CCL.

Extract from Whitelaws earlier communication:

PROMOTION & RELEGATION TO & FROM THE PREMIER DIVISION AND CONSTITUTION 2011-2012

Relegation from the Premier Division

If you finish in the bottom three, you are in a relegation position and should expect to be relegated.

New Clubs Coming in to Division One

a. Clubs in the following categories must be accepted:

1. Any existing Step 6 clubs directed to us by the Football Association, i.e. any clubs given permission by the FA to transfer from another Step 6 Division

The present situation is that there are some Step 6 clubs who have expressed an interest in transferring into the League next season from other leagues and they have all been referred to the Football Association, via Mike Appleby, the Leagues and Clubs Manager. Their entry or otherwise into the CCL is thus out of our hands, although it would be anticipated that the FA would speak to us before reaching any final decisions.

2. Any club finishing in a promotion position (top two) in a Step 7 feeder league to the CCL, subject to the required facilities.

The entry of any clubs not falling within the above categories will be subject to a vote at the AGM.

Whilst they will be disappointed, surely Bookham must have expected they were prime candidates for the drop?

The inclusion of Guernsey as a new Club is subject to the AGM vote

Sorry JR but where are they getting slagged off. People say it is wrong and I am sure if it had been Dorking you would have posted things slightly differently. Most posts are highly critical of the FA and of the fact that people including the tax payer lost out. The new club should start at the lowest level. Just because you are friends with them does not make the situation right.

I work for a company that have just spent a week chasing money from a football club that owes us. Now the rumours are that Football club are in money trouble and if they go bust could owe my company money if the cheque bounces. Yet at the moment they will be allowed to start above every step 5 club there is. But dont worry they may be friends of yours.

But surely Windsor F.C. are a New Club.Cannot find any results for them anywhere on google.Their new Chairman is their ex Vice Chairman, and they are going to be sponsored by a Hospice, who will not be putting any money in.How does that work?T hey are also looking for 200 supporters to put in £250 each =£50,000,no mean amount. So advice to any other Teams in C.C.L.Premier kiss 2011/2 season goodbye.Save your money for 2012/3,until a new EX Bankrupt Club appears, kindly sent by the F.A. you have been shafted BIG TIME.records show that Clubs who get dropped 2 rungs bounce back the following season,FARNBOROUGH,GRAYS,SALISBURY,whilst well run Clubs stagnate.FAIR DEFINITELY NOT,
