Firstly was contact made by Guernsey F.C. to Young Veteran or vice versa.Have Guernsey F.C. contacted any C.C.L. Club regarding a Friendly? I do know that Dorking offered them one,as B.J.R. posted on here.I honestly think that the C.C.L.should fund sending a Team out,on a shared basis with Guernsey F.C. 50/50 not necessarily a Fans Focus X1,just to iron out any pitfalls.Does the £150 quoted include getting to Gatwick and back to base.Does it include Parking at Horley,and being ferried to Gatwick by Coach.Health insurance,Parking Fees etc.As for going on the 18th a definite NO,on a WEDNESDAY,days of work for all,only adds to the Cost.At the end of the day as I see it the C.C.L.and Guernsey F.C. have everything to gain by doing it,For the C.C.L Prestige for allowing Guernsey into the Pyramid,and for for Guernsey F.C.to get their foot into the English Football Pyramid.If you take £150x 22x 42 you come up with a staggering figure of £138,600,so £3,300 is a price worth paying to test it.But the upside for C.C.L. Clubs is seeing what the cost would be too their pockets,are their any hidden extras? And lastly I would not be going.

Of course I knew this would be the issue before I even started. However, not necessarily down to Guernsey to pay. Would you be saying the same if had arranged a game with a team in Holland for example.

 

It's not just about the footy guys, it's about the whole trip.

 

I understand that the cost is the issue and wouldn't be stupid enough to get this rolling if I didn't. There is another thread regarding summer tours etc, can't see anyone refusing on there.

 

Anyhow, I am of course tring to source funding to bring the cost down. If I fail then maybe the whole thing will fail, but at least I have tried, not necessarily for my sake but for the benefit of all.

 

Remember I love you all so please be gentle on me and Weeble, £300, you don't have to buy everyone a drink.

 

Ps. I can get 4 more people in my car if you wanna leave your cars at my place and I will pay for parking or family in Crawley where we can all leave our cars.

A large group of lads on a jolly... £150 is easily spent on a nite out.....

Guernsey FA v Fans Forum XI

 

Guernsey have accepted an offer to play a friendy match against our Fans Forum XI. This is provisional however depending on how many players we can get together that want to play. We have proposed dates etc but nothing has been confirmed. We felt the best way to move forward is to gauge the interest before any more plans are made.

 

The proposed date is Saturday 11th June 2011

 

Kick off will be 3pm or 6pm depending on pitch availability.

 

We will fly out around 10am to arrive in Guernsey at around 11.45am. It is proposed that we then have lunch, play the match, have a buffet after the match and then you are free to explore the local night life. We will stay at the hotel chosen by our hosts and have breakfast in the morning. We will then have the rest of the day to shake off any hang overs before flying back at around 4pm. The return time can be changed if needed.

 

We will aim to raise money for charity by playing this match. I have a chosen charity and will post once I have confirmed with them.

 

We are now giving you a chance to test the proposed inclusion of Guernsey in the CCL next season.

 

The cost for the trip will be approximately £150 per person. This is to be payed by each person travelling.

 

The hotel will be providing all the food and Guernsey FA will be providing the facilities, kit, training equipment etc.

 

I need to know who is interested in travelling and playing so please post your inclusion on this thread so we can monitor numbers.

 

Sorry YV much as I would have loved to play I'm busy on both those weekends. Would there be a chance of a return match over here in July?
