Even more teams at Brimmo

Hertfordshire Senior County League side Goffs Oak have agreed to permanently move to Goldsdown Stadium in Brimsdown.

After signing a formal agreement with Goldsdown Sports Limited, Goffs Oak Chairman Tolga Huseyin stated: “We are delighted to have secured a long term partnership with Goldsdown Sports Limited and look forward to playing in our new home this coming season.

"Playing in a stadium will raise the profile of our club and give us a good opportunity to keep progressing after a successful first season winning the Hertfordshire Senior County League Division One.”

Goffs Oak have been able to move in after previous tenants Enfield Town, who play in Ryman League Division One North, moved out at the end of last season.

Town will groundshare with Cheshunt until their new QEII stadium is completed.

Goff's have no fan base and will probably form most of their team from the London Turkish League. They will be a comfortable step 5 team in time and maybe a Step 4 club too. However in my view their's no further progress up the non league pyriamed whilst at Brimmo. Good luck to them.

ETFC hold a 50% share in Goldsdown sports limited and so should benefit from both the other Enfield club and Goffs Oak. Whilst Brimsdown Rovers were a part of Brimsdown Sports and Social Club I presume the same cannot be said of the digitally challenged. Therefore there should be two tenants paying a rent to Goldsdown Sports Ltd plus the additional bar receipts.

I doubt the Goldsdown agreement is worth the paper its written on now Steph . It seems Brimo have slammed the door shut on Town's stay at Goldsdown Road by taking this Goffs oak mob in .

Its time to move on now and let them all get on with it over there , Food for thought --- Are we planning a QE agreement with the other parties ? If so how will this pan out , such as do we get rent for the rugby clubhouse being within the boundary of our stadium ?

Work to do.....Interesting comment on the Ryman pages.

"Essex Senior League champions Enfield 1893 – successors of the famous old Enfield club, who dropped out of the Ryman League in 2007 – will have to complete work on their ground at Brimsdown by the end of this month to secure their promotion spot."

What work have they got to do...I though new stands etc had to in by March 2012 ?

I've heard through the grapevine it's by the 31st of May.

With the stands removed the ground does not even comply with step 5.

I cannot see any league administrators allowing a team to compete without any seating at all.

The league would surely want to know whether the club can fulfill its fixtures before going to the trouble of preparing them. A ground inspection would have to be made before the fixtures are produced and, with holidays etc, it seems to me that the digitally challenged would need to demonstrate that the ground at least complies with grade 5 facilities by a reasonable date.

But of course I could be wrong this is just thinking aloud.

I think you'll find theres quite a bit of work going on at present at Brimsdown with hard standing and seating being put in place behind the dugouts to ensure that initial gradings are met. I believe during the season, further work will be done in the areas vacated by our stands,

I'm totally confused. I thought we (ETFC) had a half share in Goldsdown Road, and therefore cannot have a door slammed on us. In fact, I'd have thought that we would have "slammed the door" on Enfield 90210 with a hint of Brimsdown, or whatever they're called now, being allowed in? It doesn't seem good business sense to allow our main commercial rival to move in on our doorstep.

Are we now stuck with a 50% lease on agroiund we don't need, and can'r use if these posts are correct, or as I had previously understood, we will still use the Brimmo facilities for training, reserves, women's and youth teams etc?
