Cllr Moores on TalkSport

Did anyone hear Cllr Moores being interviewed on TalkSport on Monday afternoon concerning his company Air Ads. He took an order from some Millwall Fans to fly a banner over the Wigan Stadium after Sundays game where West Ham United were relegated saying ' Avram Grant a Millwall Legend'. Surely this was irresponsible as this could have inflamed trouble with the West Ham fans who must have been hurting at this point plus the scenes shown on Sky Sports News after the game showed some very angry West Ham fans confronting the Wigan Stewards. I would have thought the police would have something to say about this.

His company did a similar thing to when Blackpool fans paid for a banner to fly over the Preston fans when they were relegated and Preston boss Phil Brown commented that 'if he had a gun he would have shot it down'. Again this is done by people who know nothing about the emotion of the game of football.

The antics of some of our Cillrs makes you feel proud !!!!

I would have thought he was fast becoming an embarrassment to the tory party by now.I know he isn't well liked amongst certain tory councillors anyway & things like this surely add fuel to the fire. My guess is that his days are numbered should he continue to seek fame & the glory in the way that he does.It may well be that it is he who is scoring his own goals here as far as his political life is concerned. We'll see! But hey,he will still have his sideline (banner waving) to fall back on.Or is politics his side line?

OMG when I saw this on Match of the Day I did wonder if it was Moores' so called company but thought to myself he couldn't be so stupid and show such a lack of dacorum. How wrong I was, He really is an odious creature. Only interested in self promotion and Cookie is spot on, money. The sooner this vile man leaves Kent the better.

We must remember that Simon Moores can do no wrong!!!!!

It is OK for him to fly several hundred miles to trail a banner that a certain group find offensive but when a group of his own party state an opinion against him in a leaflet drop using information taken from Thanet Council and his own blog that is illegal!!!!!!!

Double standards seem to come into play although no doubt certain people will be on here shortly to defend him

So how's about (as Sir Jimmy would say) we pay for him to fly over Thanet with a "Lets Support Margate amendment for a new Stadium". I bet we could all chip in and find the funds....

There was an article in yesterdays Daily Mail "FOOTBALL SHORTS" section which read:-

The pilot who flew over Wigan DW Stadium carrying a banner taunting Avram Grant couldbe in trouble. Millwall fans hired the plane which trailed the mesage: 'Avram Grant - Millwall Legend' during West Ham's 3-2 defeat on Sunday. But the stunt is being probed by the Civil viagtion Authority to see if the pilot broke regulations by flying below 1,000 fet over a built-up area.

Interesting to see if he can talk his wy out of tis one.

I think it was a very naive job for him to take on. Emotions with West Ham fans on the day would have been running very high and this could have lit the blue touchpaper.

Anyone in their right mind, with the slightest inkling of how football fans can feel would have said no to the job.

As CE said, if his name and the Cllr suffix has been mentioned anywhere that a Hammers fan can see the there might be a visit from a nutcase!

As a West Ham fan and member of the KUMB (Knees Up Mother Brown for the unitiated) forum, I did decide to post a link to Dr Moore's blog on that forum. On reflection I tend to regret doing so as it just provides his “exploit” with further attention which seems to be his main vice in pretty much everything he does.

My reasons for making the post were something of an emotional outburst to the discovery that the individual who has been seen (I underline that word as he keeps assuring us that he personally has absolutely no control over the workings of the planning department) as the major obstacle to the development at Hartsdown Park for Margate FC is now also taking advantage of the plight of the football team I have supported for over 40 years for his own self-publicity and need for the limelight. Not sufficient with standing in the way of the local team I have supported for the last decade and a bit he has now turned on my first footballing passion, West Ham United. I guess I wanted to cause some discomfort but now realise that this has simply provided him yet more attention which after all is what he craves. Let’s face it, it would have been very easy for him to have remained anonymous as the pilot of that plane, had he been at all worried over any consequences of the stunt.

I was going to post this on his blog as I dislike the idea of hiding behind anonymity in my criticism of his actions but wont be doing that anymore as he does seem to take pleasure from winding us football fans up as we keep giving him the attention he wants. I'm sure he will read it here anyway as he is constantly referencing this forum. In fact I would suggest that we all stop massaging his ego by responding to his constant snipes at the football club which he keeps dropping in as asides on his blog. We (and I include myself) bite far too easily!

saw in the paper that the leaflet has been passed as okay.

On another matter I was out with a councillor last night and he was unaware that Dr Moore was the pilot for the West ham stunt, he thought it was at best a stupid thing to do

Had a great talk about Dr Moore
