The truth is that if there was someone who would be prepared to back a club, improving the financial standing and provide better investment on players and facilities almost all including AFCH would accept, end of.

I would not moan If someone genuine came in,but what happened in 2004 must never be allowed to happen again and there is always going to be a risk involved with large investment in a football club. What the club and any club don't need is someone riding into the club with promises galore and then 18 months or so later everyones dreams turning sour and a club with tradition goes bust.I actually believe that all football clubs, especially those in the non league game should be run by a board of directors chosen from the fans by the fans and that it would be up to the supporters of the club and their local communities to overlook the progression of each club

I thought we had genuine owners already.

We still have a club. Colin could have walked many times.

He's been a diamond getting support and keeping the club alive.

Plus we have all the many un paid helpers who rarely get a mention.

That includes you as well Rob.

Totally agree. Im sure that we alll acknowledge the commitment and time given by those volunteers who assist on the running of the club. Without them there would be no club in it's current form. I don't know any of them personally but I have seen some of what they do and can deduce from the content of thus Forum their loyal dedication to the cause win or lose however small. Well done to all.

My whole argument to all this is that the way things are now is the way things should be at a club. There is a level of honesty at the club we haven't seen for a while and the fans are very pro active in all this, saying that,if a sponsor came in with a couple of mill I doubt anyone would turn it down lol

Agree, Uncle Urchin may have left your club deep in the brown stuff, but while he was there you had some great times and he laid the foundations for a resurrected club to be in the league you are in now, and I doubt if you would have risen so high up the pyramid without his involvement.

Correct me if im wrong that on paper we are only one step lower on the pyramid from where we were. Also must have a chance of promotion next season.

And in years to come you can bore your grandkids to death with tales of the good times fifty years ago just like we do. I prefer a bit of excitement now, however short it might be.

Give Karl Williams a ring then. Simples.

That's what gets me with Romford, they have moaned for the last ten years about little old Hornchurch having a bit of cash then moaned because we went bust then moaned and continually bought up our ill past but if it meant a couple of attractive cup games and a season or two in the limelight they would bite your hand off for a little piece and hell to the consequences

What would we have to lose, we are a little club with no money, no ground and are probably punching above our weight, and if it went pear shaped and we had to start again we would only be one league below where we are now.

Don't know about the rest of the Boro faithful, but yes, I personally would bite someones hand off for a season or two in the limelight.

If you are going to do it, do it quick. The average age of Romfordr fans is not the lowest., But there again, if Romford do start a long winning streak, the shock might be too much !!

Wouldn't be a problem, matron would just put more bromide in our tea.

We should go back to Hornchurch FC.

absolutely.

Thats what most people think we are anyway.

Think that's what's in the front window of Simon's coach, isn't it?
