Will Graham and Dover Youth/Academy

Is it of interest that Will Graham is appparently manager of Dover Academy.

I certainly never knew that.

I never realised that it seems he has quite of few proper coaching qualifications.

I'm not sure i'm entirely comfortable with Dover having their upcoming youth trials in Birchington however.

Do they know all the potential is in Thanet.?

Seems slightly odd to me

Maybe we/you should protest to them/FA/Kent League, Rams have one, believe Margate have one - not cricket chaps!:flame:

They can obviously do what and where they like-just seems slightly odd-but behind the scenes-there is probably a very obvious reason for it.

Maybe that reason is to the benefit of MFC (and ramsgate) as well.

Not necessarily' confrontational' -albeit on the face of it possibly seems so-but we are not privy to what happens beghind the scenes where the clubs may be 'sharing'.

Could it even be turned to everyones benefit to be like the American college system of 'first draft'.

'You have first pick-we have second pick' !!!

Are'nt Dover also connected with sandwich secondary school aswell somehow-which is 'middle territoty'

You are arguably correct-but i guess thats part and parcel of bering a community club.

Obviously better if you can do it for the benefit of your own club;but realistically-the majority of players 'produced' are not goijng to progress to the required standard (same applies at any level )

However-i would think that you only need maybe 2 players per season to progress to the clubs first team-and the youth section has then 'done its job'.

Over the last few seasons-we have possibly seen one or two-even if only good enough for squad-it still 'saves' on a higher salary for a better quality player to do the same thing .

Then you only need one golden nugget every 3/4 years toi really reap the dividends (smalling at Maidstone-though i don't think they profited much )and maybe just maybe-One of the robinsons could be Margates golden nugget

Thus like everything-you have to perservere and eventually it pays off dfor player/club abnd pride in the coach who develops the player

Correct meplease if I am wrong but I thought Ramsgate were associated with Sandwich Technology School a bit like Margate and the Ursuline?

Pretty sure you are correct

Martin, on our forum, seems to think there is only one youth team in our area (Ramsgate?)
