That's a shame. Many supporters from both camps were looking forward to it, as can be seen on this Soapbox thread .

 

Hopefully next season we will at last come up against them in a competitive cup match that means something.

 

I wonder why they U turned? As someone on the Soapbox says, a friendly against us has more draw than against a supposedly "senior" club that put out a load of trialists & reserves.

 

Sudbury away would be a good replacement. Enjoyed that one.

Strange decision that, Rick - as you say, most of our fans were really looking forward to it. Suppose it will be the usual pre-season fare at MP then - friendly games against the Southend and Colchester kids/3rd team, which mean absolutely nothing.

Our ladies beat their ladies 4-1 yesterday, which meant we were promoted and they were relegated.
