Available Managers Jobs in the CCL

Obvious reason that was explained to me was that Tucks left due to Family committments,Farleigh are returning home to Parsonage Field, due to the Leagues generous gesture of Clubs not requiring Lights till 13/14 Season. So why waste £8k plus when not needed.Trevor Giles was associated with Warlingham in some capacity Management wise previously,so obviously a good candidate for them after the Choo Choo finished 6th in C.C.L.last year. His right hand man Ken Thurgood has vast experience of Non League with Holmesdale,Croydon,Lingfield, when he was Tony Beckingham's No.2.Wish them both well in their new venture,as for Warlingham becoming Farleigh Rovers,I do not personally think this will happen, their is a lot of loyalty to the Farleigh Brand and Dave Willcocks in particular from the Choo Choo boys.

AM i just being thick. but if farleigh were to win promotion, playing at a ground with no lights, they would be refused. as you cant change grounds to gain promotion. so we could have another worcester park syndrome. where there is nothing to play for, apart from the cudos, of finishing top 3.coffee%20%282%29.gif

You are correct Fan,a Club cannot be promoted if the right facilities are not in place. But there are many Teams in Div 1 at present that cannot get promoted for the same reason.Likewise in the Premier, due to ground grading, many cannot be promoted. But in hard economic times, you have to cut your cloth accordingly.

Chertsey Town need a manager

Hearing the same from a source at Hampton, but will he be satisfied as 'Chairman' with no input into team selection? Is Weebs putting himself forward for Windsor a sign the reserves may soon have a new manager?

Sorry, should probably go on the rumours thread :)

Gp ... The Chairman at Hampton is not moving, The Windsor thing came about after a phone call to myself, The Hampton reserve management team is still very much in place and how are the interviews going for your first team managers post.dance%20(2).gif

The only problem there Smudge is they've been turned down for lights there before and Dave Wilcocks resigned two weeks ago. Trev ran a very successful youth team at Wars when I was 1st team manager and Ken was my No2/coach, he did 8 years there before linking up with Tony, and he is the key, no one, but no one coaches like Ken. everyone loves to train at his sessions and this will lure players back to the club and keep the current crop there, with a few exceptions of course. These will be very trying times for Farleigh and Mark Whittaker, Welshy, Brogues and Spence are going to have to get cracking very quickly. They now need a Chairman and Manager urgently or there could be an exodus around the corner

The club are looking at it Graham, there are a few potential options already but if there is anyone interested then please contact us to put yourselves forward, there is also a kick around game up the club tomorrow evening against Kenny Lowhings work side and if anyone wants to come up and have a chat with us please feel free to do so.

I don't know the full story as I hung up my boots after 14 years at the club a month or so ago and have taken a bit of time out and was on holiday until the weekend and missed the presentation evening when a lot of this came to light as i understand it. Mark Whittaker has stood in as acting chairman for now although with a wedding pending (and more importantly a stag do next weekend) it is far from ideal for him. I'm not entirely sure of the situation with Dave but I'm certain he will still be associted with the club in some form next year and for many more to come

With regards the ground, it is not quite as simple as a money saving decision although it is no secret that it is a struggle financially for a club to play away from its owned ground not to mention the knock on effects it has of players not coming back to the clubhouse etc. We are still not sure where will be home next season and the decision is not entirely ours anyway.

We applied for lights about 4 or 5 years ago and I did the application, with hindsight I went into it fairly naively and it was turned down on the basis that we did not give sufficient reason to why the lights were required (Not something the form asked for or that I was asked during the process but you live and learn). Hopefully if we apply again soon then we would be better prepared.

It is a great shame Gilesy has left, a top bloke and excellent manager and if he were going elsewhere I would wish him well! There will undoubtedly be a few players that will follow him but there is a large core of committed Farleigh club players as has always been the case at the club and the reason why I, Dave, Mark, Paul etc have been there for so long.

Finally, good luck to Tucks, the CCL will be a (quieter) worse place without him, always a decent fella OFF the pitch but managed to have the last laugh on us this year by resigning and leaving an opening for Trevor!

Any comment Loop ??

Not as yet mate, I cant see anything on sheers website saying doug had gone yet Hopper!

Definitely refers to him as 'retiring'. I guess he didn't play this year so thought it meant packing up as Manager.

It's under presentation night news

Glad you stayed up. I like Sheerwater, nice club although I see you were struggling this season. Watched you numerous times, last game being against Chobham when they done nothing all game and scored last kick of the game. Shame about Chobham going down, thought they were decent bunch too (you might disagree) In fact it doesnt seem that long ago when I played them and they were champions!

Are you all staying down at the sheers then Loop?
