I think a lot of it was "lost in translation" Bluebood. Most of the "pulling out of FIFA" talk seems actually to be sacrificing our privilege of being on the IFAB, in exchange for a overhaul of FIFA. Apparently there is a lot of ill feeling towards the British FAs over the fact that combined we get 4 votes at the IFAB, the same as FIFA do themselves, meaning at present we can block certain rule changes that are decided annually at the IFAB.

I am sure Seb Coe's name was thrown into the mix,

but like most of these accusations, they gently

disappear into the ether.

Why would Triesman say it in the first place if there

wasn't some element of truth behind it?

He's got nothing to gain by telling porkies or am I

missing something here?

I cant see Lord Triesman coming up with that in front of the cameras unless it was true. There were raised eyebrows at the Qatar vote so wouldnt be that suprising.

 

On a related subject, what happened to France after the President launched an inquiry into the World Cup? FIFA said it was interefering in sport and wasnt allowed and threatened expulsion from FIFA.

I see the lovely "it's all about me" Mr Moores has been to Dubai but he doesn't like to talk about it, much. Also I see he is flying one of his banners (hope health and safety has been advised) congratulating Norwich Football Club on their promotion. Shame he couldn't be as supportive for his local football club.

The post on Moore’s blog had nothing to do with Margate FC. I agree with the fans about the club's redevelopment. The amendments the club want to make aren’t major and if anything make the development less of a problem for the community. I didn’t agree with the Tory manifesto’s clumsy wording either since it’s obvious public consulation would be needed for a new application. This amended application shouldn’t need new public consultation since the changes aren’t serious enough for it. The manifesto pledge was asking for trouble and it should have been obvious to those who wrote it that the fans would be rightly pissed off.
