Hiya mate

just a thought and ya might of thought of it b4 , but why not try putting some halftime entertainment

on i.e asking local bands 2 do a 15 min half time gig , plus how bout getting some local u10's side 2 have

a 15 min match across the feild

yeah i kno i'm over here in canada and watch the vancouver white caps and yeah i kno they have a

bigger following but they get local band 2 do a gig at half time, plus 2 teams playing across the field,

b4 they move 2 a temperary ground swanguad held between 4-5,000 with ticket 4 differant area at differant

prices i.e gold $70/80 silver $40/ $50 bronze $20/30, now they have move 2 the empire stadium which holds

up 2 27,000 fan's and still puts on differant entertainment inside the stadium and out side i.e local radio station's

covering the game, local bands

just a thought mate but like i z ya might of already thought of it

well cya in september

we did a penalty shoot out for the kids the other day.

Not sure about bands,i think logistically to organise that in 15 minutes may be a bit too much for a club our size but yesterday at the play off final at tonbridge they did have live music before the game, maybe we could do that at a few games(but we would need some good local band who would perform for just prestige and free admission etc, hello DEAR STU).

I also like the idea about a kids match, although this would depend on the state ot the pitch.

It may be an idea for pre season friendlies and the first few saturday games when the pitches are still ok to have a 15 minute game, perhaps we could set aside 6 dates and invite different teams on each dates all from the local area (ie upminster & hornchurch)

I know Mr Mcbride reads the forum and the ideas,am sure he will look at it but its something for us to discuss at the next meeting and it will be discussed as i think its a cracking idea personally

In the sixties Romford often had the Romford drum & Trumpet Corps playing before a match, and sometimes at half time. West Ham and Arsenal both used to have local a policeman doing a bit of opera before matches and it was always well received.

to be honest times have moved on,doubt very much that would help draw crowds in nowadays.Although some sort of live music beforehand would be good.

Agree it wouldn't bring the fans in, but it all adds up to make match-day more enjoyable, and a solo singer only needs a mike attached to a tannoy system, or you could even get someone to do a turn in the clubhouse on freezing Saturday afternoons.
