Cheeky bugger! Yes they are lol my parents live up there :)

In your younger years, were you the girl that rowed that bloke

across to Skye in her wee bonny boat? :grin:

no need know they have built a bloody bridge, took away some of the magic.

I forget the name of the crossing, Its the one that crosses the narrows. It used to be a flat plat form with 2 Gardner engines and it was built in Ramsgate. A real white knuckle ride that one. When the tide was running i have seen the current sweep back powerful fishing boats. Their used to be loads of seals fishing in the turbulent waters as well. great place. My best memory was sitting looking out over the bay from Broadford, the rain was teaming down, a patch of blue sky low to the west and the setting sun dipping into it. The rays from the said sun illuminate the whole vista. The rain drops changed colour, it seemed as the sky was full of Gold A truly magical Skye Moment.

Another was crossing the Minch to Lochmaddy on Uist , a flat but churning sea, on a early winters day from Uig. Not a cloud in the sky, and clearing away the thumping headache from the night before's drop of nectar. Looking across to the snow capped mountains of the mainland. Not believing the weather forecast was for Hurricane force winds later that day. Did it Blow, was stuck there for nearly a week.

Great memories

Great people on Skye.

I pulled my truck onto the dock at Uig the first time their. went to the ferry office, it was closed. I saw the Bar was open. I entered and asked the Bar man who turned out to be the owner and boss man on the dock about booking on . He said, ""no need to worry about that, have a meal and a drink I'll see to getting you to bed and up again in the morning". He did, hence the bad head.

Another great memory was Crawling up Rannoch moor( another magical place) in a blizzard, thinking, If I stop then that's me stuck. In the near distance i saw a big Stag deer standing in the road just looking at me. I thought move you dumb animal but, he just stood there looking at me. I thought well, I'm not stopping. About 10 yards or so away, he must have decided that's it, he ain't stopping and moved to my right and let me pass Rannoch moor is not a place to be when a blizzard comes in.

Speed bonnie boat, like a bird on the wing,

Onward, the sailors cry

Carry the lad that's born to be king

Over the sea to skye

Loud the winds howl, loud the waves roar,

Thunder clouds rend the air;

Baffled our foe's stand on the shore

Follow they will not dare

Prefer Blues blues blues but it would unnerve the visiting team if 500 people were singing it. Led by your good self of course.

Got to go Taxi outside
