Right Im now confused (not unusual I hear you say) as its a "HUNG" Council (and they should be) does that mean that us NOT voting for the Useless Blue Party that the less than adaquate party are now in charge or does it mean that the usual suspects get to stay in a place of undetermined power that they crave so much. Now you may seem a little confused by this post as I think thats what the powers that be require of us underlings (lol) but if someone with a little bit of common knowledge / sense could explain to us mushrooms what is what I for one would be extremely grateful :)

Or does it matter which Tealeaf gets put onto the big chair with the microphone to shout Guffaw Guffaw and Order Order through - hurting my ickle brain now. Simply put will this change our situation (the Club) or is it out of the frying pan and into the fire. :(

Depends which of the two major parties wins the support of the three independents.

Must be some hectic courting going on at the moment.

If there is that much courting going on . . . perhaps they should all get an hotel room (if they can find a decent one in Margate).

If the Cons get two Indies to side with them, offering positions of power maybe as a bargaining tool, then they get 29 seats and maintain control, labour need all three. Given that "independant" can sometimes mean "light blue Tory" it is interesting to see which way the independants go as they possibly hold all the cards, similar to the Cons asking the LibDems to join forces in the national coalition, although nationally a Lab/Lib coalition would still have been in the minority if that had happened.

For the time being nothing has changed too much politically, the next few days may cause that to change. Whether a Labour run council will change the situation at MFC is debatable because they have to deal with the planners and the Law as much as the Cons do.

oh... Hi all! :waytogo:

oh again... no extra hotel rooms, just a big building site, I suppose they could go courting in a portaloo?

Has to be transparent evidently so make that a phone box. Has a certain ring about it.

Why would I not want the development to go though... for that matter why would the Conservatives, the party of business, as opposed to Labour, the party of the people, not want to development to go through?

What will the Cons get by not allowing the development? To me it seems quite clear, old plans got resubmitted with elements that had changed, the council decided that they had changed significantly and that new plans had to be submitted, if thats what the law says then whats the issue here? The only difference between a "100% loyal supporter of the club who supports them no matter what they do" and myself is that I seem to be the one asking questions whereas most "loyal supporters" are just blaming someone else for what could turn out to be their own club/developers fault!

I have no axe to grind, I've lived here since 1978 and I actually have an interest in what happens locally, to do that you have to read Council stuff and to a degree get to know politics and local councillors etc, ain't rocket science peeps!

ok ok Ill bite..... so why dont you think that MFC are not being up front

What would they have to gain by splashing god knows how many hundreds of thousands just to be told by the planners

"not good enough - come back with a revised plan".

As regards the support on here for the team/club that is not in question IMO and to say that you have read lots of

"council stuff" and know a bit about politics is rather condescending fella. Maybe Im wrong but I reckon you really havent come on here to provide support for the club but to stir feelings and aggrevate debate..... iow TROLLING. coffee%20(2).gif

and I'll bite back, So why do you think that MFC are being up front? Hard isn't it, I'm not saying they are or they aren't, I'm just saying that maybe, just maybe they have tried to pull a fast one in the dying months of a previous agreed application. Sorry if I come across condescending, but when every other person on here either thinks I'm Simon "The Red Baron" Moores or some other Thanet politico it is a bit hard, ya get me?

As I said in one of my very first posts I do attend the occasional game and also use the park, I just want to make sure that everything is done fairly and one of the only places online to read what fans etc are talking about regarding the development is here I decided to join up. Call me a troll if you like, but someone interested but holding an opposite opionion to the masses of a particular site could be mistaken for one yes?

I've mentioned that I've worked with developers before and all I can say is that often they aren't as saintly as they appear, I understand that it costs a lot of money but that doesn't mean the law can be circumvented or that if they change significantly as the Council has stated it is just given the nod anyway... that's how TDC have operated pretty much for the last 30 years... and look where thats gotten us.

The granted application is still very much alive, indeed part of it, the fives, has already been completed.

reports of its dying months are very much exaggerated ......as someone once nearly said.

Let the Club and Developers get on with their work on this please.

A point that many people - on both sides of the argument - overlook Dave. The original planning application including a full-sized all weather pitch, a taller, longer hotel, with just leases to negotiate - and the club / developers have always acknowledged the consultative element to that process - is live and becasue part of it - specifically the 5-a-sides - the permission does not run out.

Your comments are far worse than any shown on the leaflet drop in Westgate. (at least they were based on facts)

Rumour, half-truth, gossip and innuendo aren't facts Frankie100 and unless you have some form of evidence that'll stand up in court of law you should be very careful what you write on forums in the UK where everyword you write is indexded against an IP address that points to your ISP account. Have you seen the sort of libel payouts that the Courts happily hand out, whether the person can afford to pay or not. If you do have the facts to back up what you say then why don't you enlighten me, remembering of course that if Simon Moores wished to take things further he could be looking at receiving damages in excess of £50,000.

As for my comments... I think so far the general jist of them is that I'm not prepared to believe everything either TDC or MFC say without seeing proof.
