Capital League v 1893

Recommended Posts

Town 'travel' to Goldsdown Road on Saturday 14 May for a midday kick off against 1893 for the final game of the Capital League season.

While Steve Newing has been dropped (aka at the first team end of season 'do'), I expect other up and coming youngsters to be putting in an appearance.

3 points for Town will see them finish the season in a very creditable 4th place.

Nice and early team news.

We are finishing the season on a very young note.

Kem, Izci Eren, Tyler and hopefully Dominic will feature. Volkan is a doubt after coming off early at Aveley last week. Otherwise the other 10 players will be 16/17yr olds who will be representing us in the reserves next season and in the FA Youth Cup. I'd advise those coming to watch and look out for Cem, Tremayne, and Billy as well as Connr and Andrew. Real young talent which leave max Mitchell and Luke Marshall brigade a grade or two behind.

Again we'll see how we get on, it will yet again beat the youngest average aged team we have put out this season by far.

Well that was the end of the Capital League/reserve season.

If you look at the result it was a disappointing end.

When you look at the fact we had one 18yr old and the rest were 16-17yrs of age, it was an exercise to blood the younger players late in the season.

Funny thing was or maybe was'nt, we were wrong footed with players being made unavailable late in the day as parents refused their kids permission to play as they had to stay in and revise for forthcoming GCSE's and first year A-Level exam's.

We wish the all the boy's well in that and look forward to having them all on board for next season.

In the end the reserves finished 6th 8pts behind the champions Aveley, whom we beat 4-1 at home and drew 2-2 away.

7pts behind Harlow who we beat 5-2 at home and lost 0-3 away

and behind Colney Heath who we beat 4-0 at home but lost 0-3 away.

For some reason, which I may need a scientific explanation for, we have a decent home record of won 7 drew 1 lost 1 and an away record of won 1 drew 1 and lost 7. Most importantly the likes of Ena, Kideem, Izci, Cem, Tyler, Volkan, Adem and Renas Seyho will be invited to first team pre season training and matches as you can see from that list only Izci, Cem and Tyler played yesterday.

Thanks to everyones help and support this season it has been fun and productive. Roll on 2011/12 at the QE.
