Coach Travel

Recommended Posts

We are planning on still doing Coach Travel to the majority of games next season, with the exception of those places on our doorstep,ie Thurrock, east Thurrock, ricay & possibly brentwood and the canvey clubs, although if the games on canvey, ricay, east Thurrock were well supported we would run a coach.

The problems we have had this season is that because we travel with the staff we have to leave too early and many people just find this too long a day.

What I am looking into is to go back to fans only transport, leaving later and coming back earlier,an example below

Horsham (coach departs @ 12.30)

Tonbridge (coach departs @ 13.00)

Harrow (coach departs @ 12.45)

kingstonian (coach departs @ 12.30)

All these will leave straight after the game, meaning we should be back at the club around 6pm-6.30,cutting the day by around 2 hours

It may be that we can only fill 29 seaters and if not full prices may go up a little but if a game is looking like being poorly supported we will look at changing down to a mini bus.

Please can you let me know if you would prefer the travel like this and if you would indeed travel on this service

Looks good to me Rob, find I spend too much time in the bar when we get there early. I know it's my fault but I'm weak-willed

If 12:45 is QPR v Norwich I'd rather go late.

If it's City v Man U I'd rather go early.

Simples.

I feel it depends on where we are going. For example, I much prefer leaving early if we are going to Margate, but would rather leave later and get back earlier when we go to Harrow.

If we can fill fans only coaches on a regular basis then great. This may also depend on where we are going, which is why I think different times for leaving is a good idea.

We should definitely have fans only coaches and fill them up for FA Cup/Trophy matches and get to these games in force.

To be honest mate, leaving at 11 in the morning has nothing to do with live football and AFC Hornchurch coach travel shouldn't really have anything to do with premiership schedules

1) so is the club house bar going 2 b open early on the away days if the coach leaves late and when we return straight atfer???

2) friendship's between us and other clubs??? building of the atmosphere between clubs i.e banter b4 and after , friendships between clubs

ya i kno it's a struggle, but in my mind if ya ain't goin 2 open the club house and leave late that ya going 2 meet up in the locals bars ( bridgehouse/essex yeoman and others ) at the normal time if we weren't 2 leave early ,as we all kno we all luv a beer or 2 b4 the game and after..

well i've spoken lol

That's fair enough but when we get to grounds at 12.30 there is never any opposition fans around.

The numbers have dropped to an average of 15 for away trips and a third of these are kids, part of the reason the numbers have dropped is we are simply arriving too early.

Games like Margate we will probably leave early as well as cup games but I really don't see the point in leaving at 11am to go somewhere like kingstonian where there is simply no interaction between the fans
