Team for next season

Ok peeps got a few weeks in which to contemplate the past season and to drool over the thought that CK is back at the helm and who player wise he might keep and who he might bolster the team with. I know we will all have different opinions on which player should go or stay but given an open budget (realistic i.e. no KAKA ) what would be your line up for our first game of the season 2011-2012

Jamie Turner (Charlie Mitten as Sub)

Arron Lacy style right back Curtis Robinson Craig Cloke Dean Hill

A fast winger Wayne Wilson Darren Marsden A nother fast winger

Tom Bradbrook Shaun Welford

Subs. Andrew Miller, Dan Langianno, Courtney Robinson

Im sure you lot will tear my team apart and maybe improve upon it, as is the nature of football we are all armchair managers so lets see what ya got fellas (just for fun btw) dance%20(2).gif

Can we keep Pinns as well please - he's a really nice guy and I like chatting to his missus and kids

Apart from that you seem to have picked pretty much the same as I would :excited:

didnt cloke not turn up saturday? i was away at weekend so wasnt at game but heard he simply didnt turn up - does anyone know if this is true??

turner

right back/ robinson / ball / hill

right mid / wilson / centre mid (marsden) / left mid

bradbrook / striker

subs: langiano, courtney, welford

so i personally think we need 5 first team players and another 4/5 for squad

10 new players would be good then! but i know thats asking a lot!

also i know 10 players may seem a lot but if you look at last seasons team compared to this season and all the players that have come and gone 10 new players isnt unrealistic...hopefully CK can build a good squad over summer - a squad that can challenge for play offs / promotion (i presume playoffs will be his aim as the club wants to be at least a connference south team) and then we can get some stability with players and a squad that can play together for more than one season - i know easier said then done

Just get 3 athletic 6'2'' central midfield players;play them alongside WW.

One striker up front.

Groombridge in front of the same defence as last season -ball,cloke, robinson, hill (i guess lacey will go as he is on transfer list anyway so assume his contract now up.

That will be good enough to secure mid table next season and then build from there.

Not sure re:goalkeeping position.

Assuming that JT has his hernia operation-how long does it take to recover-will he actually be fit enough anyway for a full seaon.

None of this winger nonsense though please.

Abdominal surgery - keyhole = 3-6 weeks is usual recovery time before trying to regain fitness....posible for August!

So it is alright for you not to go to the match (better day for MFC fans though) BUT without knowing the facts you critiicize a player that has been playing through injury etc for having to put his proper job first.

Get your facts right first does not put you in a good light does it GA!

Have been told the only 3 on contract at moment are Curtis Robinson, Shaun Welford & Tom Bradbrook. Sounds like the way Chris was talking in his post match interview Wayne will be offered one though (should please a certain someone on here :D)

Well those are three I would keep too plus Wayne Wilson & Laurence Ball. Hill?... maybe!

I still like Aaron Lacey but he is getting on a bit now & sad to say same applies to Pinns (sorry Frankies Niece).

O'Brien looks an interesting player but not altogether too sure about him for next season despite him impressing me thus far. Miller similar.Theres more to come from this lad but whether we get to see it or not who knows.

Goalkeeper? Ummm, maybe someone more agile & younger though it has to be said Turner has done a good job for us overall.

A new influx of players apart from those I have mentioned as my inked-in players.

Agreed Michael, followed his progress through the Reserves and now into 1st team squad, deserves a chance IMO.

Not too sure why Marsden seems to have been portrayed as this 'top' midfielder whose departure led to our demise. Granted, he was a decent player, but he rarely lasted more than an hour. As so many have said, fitness is key at this level now (as also pointed out by CK) so, unless he improves in that department, we won't be seeing Marsden again.
