FACT OR FICTION?

What people say about the Clubs we watch week in week out, quote V.P.Non League Matters 28/4/11.

The C.C.L. is Hit and Miss Football wise, but the Players and Managers are consistently a bunch of whinging sh*ts.

My full post which was, I might add, somewhat tongue in cheek:-

"I think you must have been unlucky if you think Isthmian 1 (N) is good football-wise and the Wessex, Kent & CCL aren't.

In my view a lot of Essex sides have always been big and strong but basically just a bunch of hoofers. I can't remember the last time I saw an Essex side at step 4 or 5 that weren't.

The CCL is hit and miss football-wise but the players and managers are consistently a bunch of whinging sh*ts.

Wessex used to be great but now it's nothing special, the Conference South is just a faster version of the CCL.

Other leagues that I've experienced lately - SL 1 © is boring and unentertaining and Isthmian 1 (S) is exactly the same as the CCL except the players think they're good (they're not)."

It's not just me that says it Smudge - a lot of the groundhoppers on there comment about how the CCL and Ryman 1 (S) have the biggest whingers in the country and the weakest refs who never do anything about it. You just have to read the 'where did you go?' threads. I could dig out some quotes but I can't be arsed right now.

Their reports detail how people across the country are regularly sent off for foul and abusive language or whatever it's called these days but how many times does that happen in the CCL?

There have been a few games this season where I've had enough of it and walked off. I don't want to pay my £6 each week to watch 30 people cry like girls. And yes, I'm including some people at my own club in this. It's no wonder the CCL has some of the smallest crowds at step 5. Sometimes it's an embarrassment when we have the under 9's down for a kick around before the main game. It's no wonder most of them leave before half time.

The reserves and youth games are an absolute pleasure to watch. Of course you get a bit of swearing which, on the whole, doesn't bother me, but when it's full on and the refs do nothing it makes me wonder what I'm doing at these games.

Much more of it and I'll go and watch Woking more often cos it's really beginning to piss me off now.

I've certainly experienced assessors being keen on action being taken on this nowadays (both at park and CCL level). Referees have been criticised/docked marks for letting it go.

It's an easy sell to players when there are clearly children present (e.g. bank holiday family days).
