The Weather

Now you're talking!!

A cool breeze in the air, plenty of cloud cover and at lunchtime, absolutely tipping it with rain. Great stuff! I prefer sub-zero, frosty/misty mornings to rain, obviously, but it's a good start.

For the first time since mid-February, the temperature in this office has gone down below 30C. With a bit of luck, we won't be enjoying the heat and sun again until next May sometime.

OfficeWoman doesn't seem too keen though!!

Scarfer!

Severe weather is expected to cause disruption to traffic etc. over the next few hours.

AFFECTING Greater London , Kent, Surrey, Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Essex.

Bands of heavy, showery rain will move southeastwards through southeast England during the next few hours. These will bring sudden heavy downpours and gusty winds and will give locally dangerous driving conditions with poor visibility, surface spray and localised flooding. Motorists are advised to use extra care as roads will be slippery after the recent dry spell.

Issued by the Met Office, London.

Will do.

This is the woman, AFF, who lives in Wheathampstead and works in the Fleetville end of St Albans, and leaves at 8am every day for work, even though she doesn't start til nine, because she "doesn't like running the risk of being late for work".

She's in by 8.25 every morning. <img src="/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" />

If I warn her of floods, she'll probably try leaving home about 5.30am tomorrow!!
