An utter Disgrace to the name of Football.

agree, thats why i never watch C L give me colliers wood , hayes gate raynes park, anywhere rather than these prima donnas. we only have ourselves to blame. we allowed our game, to become non contact, and that it what you get.

No Spanish bank will make themselves so unpopular as to call in their debts!

Perhaps it would make Jose happier if they both had Santander on their shirts.

Pepe actually made contact with the ball and pushed it against his leg.

Don't mind most handbags in football but the rolling around holding your face when the contact was clearly on the shoulder is the worst!!!

and I bet UEFA and Dick Head Platini do bugger all about the swarm of Barca players waving imaginary cards at the referee. They should have all been cautioned for unsporting behaviour for that.

Exactly!

When the under 13s start doing it what do you say?

It needs an owner of a big club to instruct his manager that this is not acceptable behaviour.

What will they gain from doing that you may ask?

The answer is RESPECT.

I'm reliably informed that next year, 'Oscars' in the States will be awarded for Best Dive, etc., etc., etc.,

Personally I thought the referee was at fault for all of last nights going ons. Basically he didnt earn the respect of the players immediately which meant the game was allowed to degenerate into the farce it became. Cannot blame the players for trying to take advantage of the situation. Diving, cheating and surronding the referee at every opportunity possible. If the ref had earnt that respect right at the beginning none of that would have happened.

this might not be as daft as you think. if we did have awards, to ridicule these things, then maybe players would think twice. the amazing thing is they call this profesionalism. i must be getting old.

Krooner I cannot understand your comment on Respect, As you said only last week: Every person in this world has my respect until they lose it for any reason. I should not have to earn respect from you becuase for the majority of the time we are on the same pitch you have a blinkered view as to my decisions.

If it is allowed at the top level then it will cascade down quite quickly. Best example is the throw in at the top level!!! Its embarrassing to watch top level players take so may foul throws and even worse is ref's and assistant ref's allowing it.

We do the respect thing but there is one question I would ask Kroons........ When I ask a question to a ref about a decision in a calm manner which I always do on occasions I have got the hand and the silent treatment and move on move on. However when during the game I have the same conversation albeit quickly with the lino I get an answer and a bit of banter. I will never say that all refs and linos are the same and I will not tollerate disrespect to any official, but sometimes I do have to bite my lip as some refs seem to think that respect means you cannot talk to them. You can't possibly answer for other officials actions but some of them make it hard.

Well spotted SF :) Cant have it both ways guys !!!

Weebs I have no idea. If they have had nothing but grief in a game then possibly they do not want to talk to anyone and that has happened to me in the past. Not excusing it Weebs. Each Ref has a different personality and some find it tough to communicate.
