Romford are our neighbours and we should not make fun of them.

Very nice of you to say so Mr O, you would never catch a Romford fan rejoicing when Hornchurch lose a few matches, and when mighty Tonbridge put seven past you it spoilt our whole weekend. Might be an idea to arrange a pre season charity friendly to see who really is the top team in Havering, with the winner choosing the charity.

Good luck to you and the future Mrs O with your wedding.

Careful Miss there are posts on the Romford closed forum where some fans are clearly happy that Hornchurch have lost. That amongst other derogatory remarks :D

Not for a very long time Hasbeen. IMO we need at least one successful team, preferably two, in Havering to reignite interest in non league football.

Well posts this season but glad to hear if it has stopped. Why the change of tack may I ask?

Most of it was just banter that got out of hand. IMO both clubs should be working together to try and address the shocking attendances and other problems that are rife in non league football. A good start might be if both clubs played home matches on different days, with perhaps reduced rates for opposing supporters.

Fair point, you can play on Sundays

Not possible I'm afraid, matron likes to have Sundays off and not enough staff left to get us all ready.

I actually meant alternate Saturdays numb skull, and what with the increasing price of petrol, and job insecurity making away travel too expensive for many, it might be worth a try for one season at least to see how it pans out.

The trouble is its not down to us when we play at home the league sets the fixtures and we all know how helpful they are ..............

I believe every club can select two clubs who they wish to avoid fixture clashes with. When Hornchurch are at home all to often so are D&R, which probably means that most uncommitted people would choose Dagenham every time.

Re you implying that "committed" people, ie nutters, all go to see Hornchurch?

That is correct. I have selected D & R and West Ham for the last couple of seasons, but it all depends on the Premiership / Football League fixture lists.

I would have said that's the correct decision as well. I think both clubs would want to avoid playing on the same day as Dagenham/West Ham (well maybe not West Ham at the moment!) rather than each other as they would be more likely to pick up extra casual supporters.
