I always ask for their first name but never ever remember their last name unfortunately. I prefer to call them/shout at them using their name rather than just ref!

The coloured guy with the dreadlocks i have always found to be a good ref as was the other coloured ref with the slightly square head!

and Krooner of course was a good ref when he could keep up with play.........bolt.gif

That mus have been when you were a Youth player JJ :)

I know a few have been promoted to Level 3 including one JJ mentioned. Well done to all of them. It is not easy to get to that level and takes not only hard work but a good level of consistency. Good Luck to them all next season they all deserve their chance.

Who in your opinion that you have seen this Season, would qualify in the Top 5 in the C.C.L.

What are the criteria for judging this and are they valid ones? If not, it's totally subjective which will not be entirely representative of performance over the season.

Peoples own personal views of what they consider to be a Top Referee, unlike an assessors view, you say over a season, but as many Refs do not do more than 10 games in C.C.L. is that your idea of a Season.I have seen many good Refs this Season, and funny enough they nearly all go into Clubhouses after the game, not just the boardroom. They are prepared to talk to mere supporters over a drink, answer questions asked. To name but a few,Mr. Roger Wells,Mr.Deli Sotimirin,Mr. Hilary Achenui,Mr. Michael Oakes,Mr. Peter Crichlow,Mr. Steve Earl,Mr David Crick,Mr.Singh,Mr. Tristan Greaves(assistant) very good Officials, and above all GREAT PEOPLE.Would be nice if assessors were so approachable, as these guys are.

It's interesting as the two referees that I know have been promoted to level 3 (which means they will be refereeing Contrib instead of CCL next season) are not mentioned above. In addition, I know of two other referees not mentioned who are both 'AA' standard (meaning top banded for both assessments and club marks)....

Of course, the old adage is that the best accolade a referee can hope to receive is for no-one to remember who they were after the game...
