Off topic but H&R related, I see Dean Wells has been banged up for 12 months for football hooliganism! Surprised at that as he always struck me as a placid type on the park and quite fancied Dons signing him when we were in the Ryman/BSS. A big unit but an excellent defender. I see H&R say they will welcome him back aterwards, but can you play if you are the subject of a banning order?

So he'll be out after less than a quarter of his sentance? Just in time for pre-season too - result! Of course you'd think the FA would ban any player from playing who is subject to a banning order, for the same period (as if!).

 

So then, 3 months being pampered (at our expense), then carry on as if nothing ever happened!

 

Funny old game innit?

Police incompetence. Or CPS incompetence.

The judge can only sentence based on the charges the defendants have been found guilty of.

 

Upon sentencing, JudgeTimothy Pontius criticised the decision to charge the men with affray rather than violent disorder

typical justice system. Drug adicts peado's and bugulars get away scott free yet a punch up at football results in OTT sentances

 

It wasn't at the football though was it. It was a pre-arranged fight miles away from the football for fighting's sake. Pathetic from an adult.

 

Nothing over the top about it, should have been longer.

NLN, have to say if you think 12 wks for pre-meditated violence in which innocent people were no doubt caught up, coupled with being able to resume earning money from playing despite having a banning order is 'OTT' then I don't really know what to say!

Weebs,just been out walking the dog,bumped in to a young lad who talks to me a lot,about Football.Hampton and Richmond won 2-0 he told me.He speaks highly of you.The young man is always training up the Purley Way,so dedicated,and proud of the Club he plays for,a great credit to you in my opinion.WELL DONE.

I'm not trying to defend it I'm simply saying that the sentances are too harsh especially when you consider that muggars and burgulars and people that make other lifes a misery generally get away scott free.

Lads throw a few punches in a street and get 12 months bird yet i see an illegal immigrant with no driving licence who mowed down a young lady last month walks free from court. Even peado's get less .

So the punishments for the other crimes are too lenient. This punishment is spot on, or if anything, too lenient.
