We can still have a big say

Kingstonian MUST win on Saturday to get into the playoffs. They are currently 6th, but a win could see them finishing between 2nd and 6th. I would think that they may bring quite a few supporters with them, so it will be a good time to get behind the team and go out on a high. Ironically we could end the season having two of our higher attendances of the season.

Some staying with us and making a weekend of it. Just proves the point that football attracts visitors TDC take note Pound to a penny you are reading this.

Unfortunately Dave I feel it is falling on deaf ears - either TDC dont think this will be an election catastrophy or they think that we are all full of hot air - dont abstain from voting peeps just dont vote TORY (from an angry lifelong tory :flame: )

When the Emu position is adopted you don't hear anything and hope it goes away, NOT THIS TIME. Double the whammy and use your vote elsewhere.

I heard last night that 45,000 people have walked through the doors of the Turner in the 1st 10 days( this includes 1 closed day). So with so many visitors will our Kingstonian friends be able to find a space in the area. The Turner is proving that the facillites for people wishing to stay are whoefully lacking. Shows the need for our Travel lodge ( how things can go around, I worked for trusthouse forte at their Barton under Needwood site and, played a part in the opening and running of the first Travel Lodge in the country)

Any Kingstonian supporter wishing to stay the night could do no better than go on to www.devonhurst.co.uk. A excellent establishment run by a football supporter. If fully booked i am sure Dave would guide you to other establishments.

PS, If Broadstairs Daves picture worries you, he is nothing like John Cleese (a liitle shorter).

Well thats 45,000 that wont be returning to it.

I should have stood there for those days getting comments from those that visited it. Would have made good headlines I would imagine.

I too ventured down there at the week-end & without my bias on it ,it really is shocking. I only saw about 2 or 3 paintings.Rooms were massive with only one or two items in them. Absolutely pitiful for the money spent.Took me all of 10 minutes to walk round.

Someone needs their heads banging on this one.

They certainly need to upgrade for the summer or this will go down even quicker than I had imagined it would.

Sounds like nonsense. TC is open nine hours a day. So that's 81 hours over nine days. Divide 45,000 by 81 and you get 555 people walking through their doors per hour, or nearly ten per minute. Given that it's an art gallery rather than a shop, and most people will be wanting to hang around for a while, it would have to be like Noah's Ark in there for those numbers to be true.

Did you read the comments book.

There is an old saying " you can fool some of the people some of the time but not all of the people all of the time" Have they not heard this or do they think it does not apply to art. I support the venture but come on fill it with ART. I walked in to a Gallery on Duke Street a few weeks ago, Spoke to the owner, nice guy. Works with over 90 artists including "Rolf Harris". His shop was full of my kind of art. Amixture of Modern, landscape, nudes( cough, cough), though all out of my bracket it was nice to see.

No I didnt Graeme.Didn't know they had one but I shall certainly make an unimaginable trip down there again just to read those comments.I'll be looking to see how many torn out pages there are too.

Ventured there yesterday and it was as dire as I thought it would be with more staff than members of the public.

And yes I added my bit to the comments book so hopefully the page is still in there!!!

Also paid a short visit, total disgrace, its actually worse than I expected nearly as bad as going to deadwood.

Not from what I have heard from people who have been. Other than hanging around just in case they brought something interesting out to look at.
