I'm not saying that you are or that you're not but again your words show familiarity apart from the "I'm not part of TDC" .That would be classed as a lie if you were indeed the familiar one.

My point has always been a will to see this through from the council. If our council leader got the un elected officers and developers together and told both parties to go away and find a solution to resolve the issues then that would a positive step and back up the council's words that they want to support the club, has this happened , maybe On The Side Lines could let us know. It seems the silence from the council is deafening, maybe if I am wrong someone can come on and coerrect me if this has happened.

My opinion so not fact but I have to say maybe we (the club) arent 100% in the right here, I have and Im sure a majority of you out there have thought this procedure has taken an absolute age and that the hurdles we (the club) have had to jump are maybe because we havent dotted the i's and crossed the t's.

The Planning Dept are employed and not elected members of the council so unless they as many have said havent had their "backhander" which I find hard to believe then maybe just maybe we arent as white as "we" are making out. Ooopps I know this statement might fly in the face of some on here but we do have to consider that the process that the club is going through is Legal one and that peoples heads/careers would be on the line if they fell out of line with the rules.

This is only a niggling thought but Im sure many of you are also thinking the same, god forbid "we" did go down the pan because of the employed Architects etc werent as competant as they made out or promised to be. Lets face it 5-6 years ago we employed a Stadia Group and they were supposed to be the nuts - look where that got us.:(

As stated just a thought so no need to shoot me :)

Hopefully, the latest news puts your mind at rest. (Look, no gun! )

Have been looking into Dr Moores a bit - he seems a central figure here, and one to give rise to strong feelings.

It seems that lobbying and providing access to politicians - presumeably for personal business gain - is ok by him, and it might be I suppose. Anyway, one of his clients - Keith Marsden - Managing Director i-CD & 192.Com has said, "Simon helped us in a recent lobbying campaign. The objective was to influence and meet politicians and goverment officials in order to set out our point of view on a critical policy issue. The biggest challenge was of course getting their attention. This is where Simon came in, he is extremely well networked and very well respected. He was able to introduce us to people that we would otherwise have had great difficulty getting to.”

I know it goes on and is legal, but it also feels a bit murky......but are we surprised?

Having just had a peep at Simon Moores blog it seems he has just quoted your post on there.Looks like he is visiting us here on a regular basis these days. He must be a worried man if that is the case!

Anyway, anyone got anything nice to say about him/to him then?

Well I didn't call him "bent". Seemed to get a bit defensive for some reason.

To be fair the building in question is the old Beconsfield Club which has not been a Tory club for several years.

Another building though that was being converted into flats without planning consent so funnily enough went up in flames!!!!!

The current building to catch fire is next door so working their way up to the jobcentre where on Friday it is possible that a few councillors will be heading.

On a bit of a wander across the web with the club’s plight in mind, I came across this web site article speculating about Simon Moores. I’m really not obsessed with him but if he wants to put himself out there, he’s going to be found.

Thanet Star http://thanetstar.com/article/exclusive-is-cllr-simon-moores-involved-with-shady-internet-activities had an article from 2009 on Moores concerning his internet activities. I don’t know if he responded to the article or not but he was doing something back then that drew the attention of Matt Brown who wrote the article.

Perhaps the Labour candidates David Bull, Meg Harvey and Lynda Robinson in Westgate Ward already know this.

Wondered why I couldn't comment on his blog anymore.

I had wanted to reply to the local resident who moved into his house without noticing there was a football club on his doorstep and now wants to see it shut down. His comment that the 5-a-side pitches are rarely used whilst the grass pitch in Tivoli Park is in constant use just angered me as it is a downright lie.

My son spent 3 days last week at a soccer school on the 5's pitches during the school holidays. I'm sure he would be happy to do this more weeks but he has to do regular school most of the time! He recieved great coaching from Dan Langiano and Josh Merry and thoroughly enjoyed himself and I was able to leave him in a safe environment at the very reasonable price of £15 per day. I would certainly not feel able to leave him on the pitches in Tivoli unsupervised and in truth most of the times I pass those they are not in use. I'm surprised anyway that TDC haven't removed the goalposts from the pitches yet - they normally do that at least a month before the FA Cup final.

regarding the 5's...you know and I know the 'public' are being fed downright lies, I had to put a sanctimonious work collegue straight when they said that 'the park was for everyone and we cant afford to lose any more green space' ...

I was calm and polite in my response and explained that the scrub land was being put back to parkland we want a smaller hotel and we only wish to move the 3G pitch etc etc etc! there has been so much misinformation sent out there people seem to think we wish to concrete the entire park!

I doubt that is the council's fault on this occassion but Friends of HdP / NIMBYs may well still be the source of that sort of mis-information if it's still being spouted. Having said that, they not gone out of their way to correct any mis-conceptions other than to say the club can go ahead and build the bigger and more impactful hotel.

and I am having to tell people we want the ammendment to build smaller not bigger...they get very puzzled that the club is having trouble getting permission to ammend the plans to something smaller...conception seems to be that the council are objecting therefore we must be requesting something terrible, huge and unsightly taking up public space and cutting off the park for other users...
