From his Twitter page it looks like today was Jacko's last game before hanging up boots and gloves.

 

If this is the case, it is a great shame. Not only has he been a loyal servant to the club over many years, he is a great character and will be missed.

 

Alfie will be gutted.

I'll never forget Jacko coming off the pitch at Hampton in tears after we were relegated. Along with the likes of Steve Daly & Wilko he's right up there with the all-time Rebels legends.

His reaction at the end of the Hitchin play off last season was legendary too.

 

Throwin his gloves into the crowd, beating his chest and shouting "This is my club!"

Well I for one hope he can be persuaded to reconsider and hang around for at least another season or so. If anyone deserves to lead the team out for the first game at the new ground it is Jacko. He has stuck with the club through some very tough times when it would have been easier to leave us for good and play at a better standard. Now things have improved he showed he thoroughly deserved his place in the side last season that went so close to promotion and showed yesterday he is still in good shape to play on. But for his injuries this season he could well have been our first choice throughout.

Totally agree Martin. He should stay signed on even if he isnt playing and keep himself fit for our first game at Stoke Road

Yep, Jacko is a top bloke and a Slough fan. I know he would love to lead Slough out for our first game at the new stadium, if his knees and back can take it. If he ain't in the team, i'm sure he will be in the crowd.

Even if he's not playing that game - let him lead the team out as substitute. He doesn't have to come on. Few players deserve it more. He's hung around through some rubbish times.

without doubt Jacko is a Slough legend. i know he is a Slough lad but his dedication and love for the club is top class
