If we do move up two places that will put us 6th - in other words one off the play off places with Tilbury to go. It is my view that we ought to retain that 6th place so I dont see how we need 7/8 new players as has been suggested on another thread.

14 defeats was never going to be good enough for a play off place. Harlow, Brentwood have made it and we beat them by 5 and 6 goals. The last minute equaliser against us in the Wingate match also hurt, but too many defeats against the "lessor" teams has been our downfall. More consistency and we will be up there again next year hopefully a new ground will bring us better results especially at home

I for one am looking forward to that but think they (1893) will need better players to compete with other teams in the RYMAN 1st Div

The Eye-as mentiomed on the other thread it's not change but add a 3-4 key improvements to our best 14 and a decent back up for Rob.

MOM against Cheshunt had to be Jay. Raiding down the wing. Able to cross with either foot and ran around being productive for 90 minutes. Breath of fresh air.

I have always thought that Jay is an asset to the club and. it seems, he can link with Bardle. Now if only we had a similar combination on the other flank.

We've had several such combinations. Trouble is they kept getting injured. Just think if Lockie and Mehmet or Lockie and Hammond had been available throughout.

MATCH HIGHLIGHTS ARE HERE - Including all three well taken goals... Agree with the comments re Jey...him and Bards link up so well together on the left hand side.... when Bards was forward Jey stayed back and Jey put in some fantastic crosses, won't see a better ball than that cross for the third goal.. Walid run his socks off and is getting better every game he plays since he came back... it's all looking good for next season if you ask me!! Cheshunt did have some chances to score and have obviously improved from the freak 9-0 drubbing at Grays.

 

I think what did help was playing on a good pitch....Goldsdown Road's surface hasn't helped Town's football in some of the games....

 

Have a look at "the cold end"....Pictures show the second goal was scored by Walid and that the ball hadn't crossed the line (just!!!)

Having lost 9 games before your visit it stands to reason that we were more than capable of shooting ourselves in both feet without you trying to claim all the glory for yourselves. Highlight of our season (6-0 @Brentwood, 5-1 @Sudbury, 5-0 H Harlow. FAC tie @ Borehamwood) I wouldn't stoop as low as to mention your result at grays the other week. Oops clumsy me. Hope you get your own forum soon then we can hijack it and make innane and purile posts on stuff that doesn't concern us.
