Capital League Next Week

Recommended Posts

I'm planning to play Steve in the 1893 game (if they are still called that by the time we play them).

It'll be a totally reserve team showing up on Wednesday as the first teamers would have completed playing 2 games in 2 days just 48hrs prior.

Some of the youngsters will have become familiar with the regulars who watch, including 5 17yr olds. It'll be a good test v's an Aveley team needing 4 points from 4 games to clinch the reserve league title again.

Just to confirm we'll be having six 17yr olds and and five 18-19yr olds playing v's Aveley on Wednesday night.

We've had some super games in our home reserve games, helped by the encouraging support by the regulars watching. Our attendances have ranged from 3 figures to just 20odd.

It'll be nice for the supporters to come along and support our last home game of the reserve season as well as watching out for any potential for next season.

Another interesting game with some excellnt goals but I do feel bit sorry for

the Aveley Physio who was originally left to manage the side and then finished

off by having to play the entire game. ;)

Town 4 Aveley 1

Town's scorers were Adem Ali, Izci Eren, Vaughn Duguid and Billy Jones.

Another entertaining game with the youngsters securing a 7th straight home win, and ending the home fixure list unbeaten at Goldsdown Road since 4 October.

No doubt EU will provide the technical analysis later.

Technical Analysis? Here goes.

Pleasing part of our good 7 win home run is that the younger players have grown into adult football from losing 1-4 to Hornchurch to wnning the last 4 home games 5-0, 5-2 and 4-1 with a first away win at Cheshunt 5-2.

Make no mistake that a handful if not more of these younger players will feature in our first team pre-season friendlies for which they will comfortably handle. Aveley had the bare 11 I think with their manager having to play due to two Aveley players apparently unable to make KO due to a Police incident, nonetheless they were a very able 11 to say the least, which commends a fine performance and ability of some of our boys.

The fact that they had a first team defender sent off for 2 bookables showed the problems Vaughan, Volkan (and then Billy) Adem and Izci were causing Aveley.

Kiddeem at the back with Ena formed and is forming further still a solid centre half partnership.

We'll see how much further these lad's have progressed with the return at Aveley next Thursday the 5th of May, where I'll be expecting to face a stronger Aveley team who can still win the reserve title whereas we are now battling for a potential joint runners up spot.
