Team's performance against Lowestoft

Still think Turner is a quality keeper at this level; despite his poor performance yesterday.

A bit harsh considering he didn't play!

Couple of points - Lowestoft have the best away record in the league, had something to play for, and we didn't, so losing wasn't entirely unexpected (though the manner of it wasn't good enough).

CK will be looking for young, athletic players in the summer (are there any more Sodjes out there?), which is what he seemed to be hinting at in his interview. He has a great record for spotting youngsters, see Akpo is now banging them in for Hibs. Forget spending big as the new ground won't be happening.

First priority has to be to bring back Marsden in the summer. The season has been a complete non-event since he left.

Lacy, Osborne, Groombridge, O'Brien, Wilson, Pinnock (as much as he's worked his nuts off for the club), I think have all run their course with us.

Some big decisions for CK to make as I could only call maybe 3 or 4 definite keeps, one of them being the goalkeeper.

I agree, would say just Turner / Robinson / Ball / Cloke / Hill(sweeper?) & Bradbrook retained. Let's find out who else turns up for pre-season.

Though I'm not sure about Marsden wanting to return, as the given reasons for his leaving ("he was going to find it impossible to do the travelling required in our league on a Saturday") still apply, we can't have a player in the side that can only play at home ... can we?

Managed to make it to Fisher yesterday, so he can get to games in London. Scored too...

Retain (only including first team players, not youth/reserves)

Turner, Cloke, Ball, Hill, Robinson, Welford, Bradbrook

I'm undecided on one player - Wilson - brings absolutely nothing to the table when the ball is in play, but on the other hand can deliver a good corner and free kick.

The rest can go.

Bradbrook and Welford to stay Chris can bring out the best in them but out of the two to stay if one was to go i would have to chose Tom .

Hill , Ball , Clokey and Curtis are a must with Wayne in middle being only midfielder i would keep as he will flourish under CK`s leadership .

Fringe players to keep would be Andy Miller and Josh Winchcombe .

The rest of the lads gone im affraid can see Pinns going , will be sad to see him go but his legs are behind the rest of him now . Will probably go off and meet Jay and Dan at Maidstone in the lower leagues .

CK has a big job on his hands but he knew that before he took on the job but he does state in his interview that he has conections in the football league so a few season long loan players would fit in very well were we need to strengthen the team .

Up the Gate .

Which goalie Paul. How about Bradbrook then?

JT. Don't think Ibrahim is worth pursuing.

Undecided on Bradbrook. Glad CK is making the call on a few of the squad and not me.

Agree Andy-although just to add that WW is the only midfield player we have anyway !!

To be fair-i also think Langiano should be kept-and also played in the next couple of games.

Listened to CK's interview-liked what i heard .

Interesting that he implies in the last 12 months that he has applied for other managers jobs (been trying to get back into management)

seems hungry enough.

Do i also i read into it that he questiuons if the players are as fit as they should be ?

Was'nt CK a teacher by day-is he still doing that i wonder.

If not-does it give him more time to concentrate on Margate FC

But can this pair play together?

I don't think so, unfortunately. CK will be looking for a pacey forward alongside one of them. Who to keep? Welford's age needs to be taken into account. Not entirely convinced by Bradbrook's first touch. Difficult call.

The issue of compensation might have passed by now with Marsden, I hope.

I would like just to make a point about Sam Groombridge apart from being young, he is a Defender, and not a midfileld player. On the few occasions when IOC did play him (not often enough IMO ) in defence his performance and i'm sue some stats might prove he helped keep the defense tight. But due to players moving on and injuries. Sam has been placed in a midfield roll. I think if with coaching and the opprtunity of returning to defense he will become a great asset to the club.

I thought you were just having a laugh with your comment. You know, nod nod, wink wink an' all that.

Agree re:groombridge-and although i did not see him yesterday-on the two occasions i have seen him play in a defensive midfield role-i thought has done ok.

Reminds me of Jake leberl in his heyday that role

CK states in Fridays IOTG - '' There's a couple of decent players here''. Mass clear out then ?

'' We'll be looking for hungry young players with ambition.I've got a lot of contacts in the Football League.''

'' We did it before with players nobody else wanted ''.

'' We'll build a side and as there's less money ( than IOC had ) it may take a bit longer but we'll get there ''.

Have faith and patience.

'Faith and Patience' are my interpretation and are not quotes from CK.
