PS - meassge to THE EYE , ( as you can hide behind the forum )

Why not be a bit bold and name the 7 or 8 who in your opinion arent good enough ??????

I was not saying they were not good enough just that the performances in a lot of games have not been good enough and I am sure that we can acquire players of a better standard..

Okay these are the players i would release. I have used the squad page in the programme to identify. I realise that some of my choices have not played much this season but with releasing these players this will allow others to come in.

Paul Campbell

Paul Marks

Richard Morton

Rudi as a player

Jon Stevenson

Andy Jones

Ben hammond

fabio valenti

Sam byfield

Liam Hope

Bryan hammett

Leon Osei

Joe Stevens

Dan Forward

I too would like to comment:

Continuity is the best way forward and that includes continuos improvement. We need 3 maybe at the most 4 players who will improve the team and strengthen the squad.

Your list names mainly squad players.

The strongest team we could put out this season would be Rob, Jordan, Kane, Kirby, Gio, Bardle, Moore, Morton, Osei, Wallace And either Stuart or Liam. Thats the 11-12 we have to start with from next season and look to improve it. However, a budget can only put a side out on the strength of the budget, so if we have the same budget for next season then we are likely to get similar output.

Byfield and Hammond are due to return so thats two key improvements.

I think we have a strong and very very able nucleous, add 2-3 midfielders of better quality and a 20-25 goal striker and we'll be ok, but that cost's.

So it's not Steve and the team which needs to change but it's the budget, if we want it we need to raise the money to get.

The budget? More people through the gate will probably come about when we have a team winning on a regular basis and not hoping to get into the play - offs with 14 defeats behind it.

We have been the 5th best supported team at home so surely the budget was set to win the league or at least get into the play - offs. As we didn't make them, then either the budget wasn't high enough or we were not good enough over the whole season. A bit like a chicken and an egg. Bigger budget can only come through better attendances no doubt following a team performing well and winning.
