Sorry Steve I couldn't get on here last night so this is the first time I have had the chance to say anthing on this.Firstly what a miserable turn-out.Has everyone given up on this I ask? I certainly hope that isn't the case.

The amount that turned up to support KP & the club on the night is too embarrassing to mention so I wont. Those that did make the effort heard first hand what had gone on during the day & of just how this council are changing their decisions to suit their own purposes.

Frankies niece is correct in what she says but the crux of the matter is that ealier this week the council gave the okay to accept the item as an amendment. On 3 occasions the club were to get written confirmation on this. However none came & then immediately before the meeting we were told that during the day KP had been informed that the council had reverted back to their original decision in NOT allowing this through as an amendment.

KP put an exceptionally good speech together on behalf of the club, & for any doubters of him out take it from me this man is bending over backwads & giving his all to get this off the ground & running.

The council without a shadow of a doubt are behaving incorrectly on this & that will be borne out to you all in due course..

Iris Johnstone backed us up extremely well & even mentioned that this council are treating this club very unfairly & at times they are ommitting or changing words in the minutes of meetings to suit themselves Her words not mine) to have an edge over this club.

These proceedings were supposed to be recorded for anyone to hear on the councils website at a later stage & if they are then you will hear for yourselves exactly what was said. My feeling here is that the council will avoid dong just that though.Oh they will blame the micro-phones I'm sure that were constantly failing on the night or they will come up with something to avoid it being heard. If I were them I wouldn't blame them for not wanting it all heard. If it does get released I'm positive they will have edited it to avoid embarrassment. We will have to wait & see if that actually happens .

Mr Ezekial also also said a few words on our behalf inviting councillors & the anti public alike to venture up to the club to see for themselves just what a good set-up the club has there. Sadly Mr Ezekial seems to have let himself down on another matter but again if the recordings ARE made available,in full you will hear that part too.

So where do we stand? Well I will leave that down to the club to tell you & they will do very soon I'm sure. Yet again the council have gone back on their word & taken a course not beneficial to the club but for reasons only known to them at this stage beneficial to them.

KP has stated to us that the amendment SHOULD have been allowed & that his legal experts say the same & they had indeed sent a correspondence telling the council that .This council however has overuled that & again snubbed not only the legal experts & the club but have gone way out of their way to prevent us from proceeding yet again.I personally feel they need to be made to pay, literally for any loss the club incur over these continual delaying tactics, but that is my own opinion.I don't feel they should be allowed to get away with the way they have handled this over the years but more especially now.

We have right on our side on this & the council are acting improperly to say the least on this application. What the club decides to do they will tell you.

Its another massive step back & we may be at an end of the road on this who knows. Will the developers go away now, will Travelodge remain & stay on board whilst KP & the board of Directors continue this fight?

The club I know will NOT give in on this & if there is a way forward from here-on they will find it.

May I just say thanks to Mark Sandwell & his family for coming out as a family with some superb & very witty banners.Maybe Mark can tell you what they said I cant recall now but they were worth reading if nothing else.

Well done & thanks to those others also that DID manage to make an effort on the night to go & support the club..

Time to call in the Council Ombudsman on this Council.........must be getting used to the bloke as they have been previously found guilty of illegal practise.

Will check how my local councillor voted and if as I fear he lied to me he can take a running jump if he thinks he will now get my vote

Has any other project in Thanet had this much difficulty in going through?

Have Travelodge ever had this much trouble in any other part of the country?

Are there any precedents where the council can show that this is the way it is always done or are there any other precedents to the contrary, like the Turner Contempt ory where things have been pushed through despite public opposition?

Maybe time to get a bit of a factfile together and go above TDC with the findings.

Said the same to KP last night Frankie but I think KP wishes to give this every opportunity of succeeding without the need for that at this stage (yes I know its been years). Whether he takes that avenue I dont know but ones things for sure the council should not be allowed to treat us differently from any others & that includes, especially on this occasion, ignoring the rules, regulations, guidlines & legalities of the planning application submitted.

Gary Lever might feel differently. Wouldn't be surprised if the legal route had been looked into.

Thanks Tony. Sorry I missed the council meeting. I was canvassing for the Lottery until well after 7.

Surley it is know time to bring in the lawyers. These so called representitives have to be held to account. Not only for the mismanagement of this affair but, the mismanagment of the area as a whole's affairs for the past how ever so long. These people are bringing and have brought local govenment into disrepute. This is the unacceptable face of Petty officialdom.

What do these people want in thanet, Theirs no work, european capital of teenage pregnancies, dumping ground for London problems, 606 removed from dreamland site and fun fair demolished and they have allowed the Turner to open with an absolute eyesore of a building opposite on Fort Hill.

As I walked around the old town collecting signatures from people and premises I found most people did not have a good word for the shower in power, they to had been frustrated by the mismanagement they had experienced.

Whats the point in turning out to vote this election time, will it change anything. No way, it's a game to them, just a game.

Interesting to note that the Tories now have MFC and the plans in their manifesto for the election!

If you haven't already, you might want to take a leaf out of my mum's book. Each time someone canvasses her from a political party, she asks about their suupport for the club. Mind you, so far the Labour candidtae changed her mind during the conversation, and the Tory was very guarded. Anyway, the club does seem to be a way up the polictical agenda now which could be a positive.

Just read that in their maifesto Welsie but all that says is that they will not give the club any lease until consultations have been made. Well why do they keep talking about it? Why dont they bring this forward & do just than rather than just saying it.

(I know you'll be telling me there are procedures to go through but surely that should have been done before now,if it hasn't already been done & in my eyes that process HAS already been gone through)

The planning permission runs out in the summer. They are simply 'timing out' the plans.

Planning permission does NOT run out in the summer. The development - in llibe with the original approved plans - has already started with the 5-a-side centre. IN that respect, we are ot "time bound". Time critical issues are more associated wit the commercial aspects.

But the thing is Tony, the Tories ARE taking enough notice to included it in their manifesto for the first time. So in other words, they percieve there are votes tied up in it.

Maybe the voters should take a leaf out of the Tory councillors book and say they will vote for them then do the complete opposite.

And yes I am a member of the Conservative party but this lot are a bl00dy disgrace to the principles of the party

Got back from the meeting last night to find my postal ballot papers had arrived. Gave me a little satisfaction to put an "X" in the box of someone other than the forked tongued Councillor Robert Bayford.
