All of a sudden having got the majority of the decisions in the games I have seen Guildford are now blaming the officials. Squeaky bum boys ?

Is it four points for a win in the CCL these days?

Seriously though, Guildford look like they have the wobbles and are set to gift the championship to Spencer...

From a complete Neutral's point of view,Hanworth Villa and Colliers Wood are no mean sides. But just my view, if as is suspected that the F.A. have turned down Guildfords Ground Grading for promotion, the whole Club, must be very down.If it was me personally I would step aside, and let Chertsey win the League.2 Reasons,at least you would not have to beat a good side next year, and to [****!!****] a snook at the F.A.

there was not the buzz about city last night or on saturday. that includes the fans. looking around the ground, it makes the ground grading system, seem stupid. as some of the barriers are so far from the pitch, it is a joke. not citys fault, but not in the spectators best interest. smudge with all those croydon lads in the city side, i am not sure you are a neutral.

I'm sorry but that was NOT a blatant penalty or a penalty of any sort. The ball bounced up and hit Joe Mead on the elbow as he was clearing the ball. There was no hand/arm movement towards the ball!:492:

I thought we fought hard and our front two caused a nervous City defence all sorts of problems all night, as did City's front three for our back three which soon became a back four. Our skipper, Sam Mead, was outstanding (again) and our efforts deserved the point.

No doubt the watching Chertsey entourage will appreciate the effort we put in and we have taken points off all the top four now this season.

An entertaining game on a pitch that has been re-seeded but played fairly well.

Guildford's ground grading has been turned down (for some strange reasons IMHO) and they are appealling against the decision.

Met a ground hopper from Norway who is doing ten games in ten days.

Nice people at City, including the manager, who will be reported by the referee for comments made.

Thought the ref was average but fair to both sides. 5 bookings (2 to us); might have been more.

All in all a better night than I expected all round.

If you wanted atmosphere, should have come to the Sunday Premier cup final ;-) Great crowd (I think gated 150-160) who were there to cheer on their respective sides!

Chris is pretty much spot on with the above. It wasn't a deliberate handball, and the ball only bounced up lightly on to his arm. If the referee had seen it there may have been a case for a penalty but we can't rely on that to win the league. It wasn't our best performance and I don't think the uncertainty over the grading has helped, but the title is still in our hands and three wins from three is certainly achievable!

It's this stage of the season where I wish I could zoom forward a week so I know whether to get excited or not...

HEARD FROM A VERY GOOD SOURCE LAST NIGHT THAT IF GUILDFORD WIN THE LEAGUE BUT LOSE THEIR APPEAL, THERE WILL NOT BE ANY PROMOTION, ONE RELEGATED AND 2 PROMOTED FROM CCL DIV. 1 TO MAKE THE PREM AN EVEN TOTAL OF 22 TEAMS

Always speculation this time of the year but I would say Chertseys prospects of promotion if they "only" finish 2nd were greatly enhanced by the fact that Wantage failed to get their ground graded - some NIMBY council ruling that means their ground cannot be enclosed. It means that the Hellenic League won't have a promotion candidate opening the door for some 2nd placed teams of which Chertsey are well placed on a points per game basis. I hope they win it outright though - if as we suspect Guildford lose their appeal.

On the subject of sending offs there was a new one for me yesterday at RPV v Wembley last night.

The Wembley no10, who in many minds should have received at least a yellow for a late challenge on Grobler in the first half, managed to get sent off while being substitued in the second half.

As I was on the other side I couldn't quite hear what he said to the ref but the Wembley players' reactions suggested he abused his own player as he trudged off.

I think he may have got two yellows as he went off rather than a straight red too.

Not sure why the ref then didn't send off half the Wembley team for protesting using foul and abusive language too.

To make it even funnier as he sloped off he managed to swear at the lino who had nothing to do with his sending off, plus some of the crowd, telling them all that he "was not interestd in playing in the f**king cup final" and "it's a f**king sh*t league" etc etc.

I tried very hard to keep a straight face......

You clearly didn't hear from a very good source.

GF has pointed out the reason why - Wantage aren't going up. There are no teams going up from the Western League as both sides who applied have withdrawn their application which leaves 12 leagues fighting for 12 promotion spots. 1 each. Simple. There may be other teams who haven't got the grading who we don't know about yet in which case less than 12 will go up. Anyone know what Chalfont St. Peter's ground's like these days?
