Knowing the Rules.

As is my way got speaking to a Surrey F.A.Referees Mentor tonight after the game at Leatherhead.Started by me asking him how the Referee on the night could possibly book 1 player for kicking the ball away in anguish, then 5 mins later not booking another for an identical misdeanour.Like all good politicians,or Prisoners in police custody, the answer NO COMMENT.Followed by you think you know the rules do you, well answer these 2 questions then.

1. A team is awarded a direct free kick just outside their box,the player knocks it back towards the keeper who misses it,and it goes in the net.shortly after he awards the same team an indirect free kick just outside the box, this loon of a keeper misses it again and it goes in the net.

HOW DOES THE REF RESTART THE GAME.

2.How can a player score 3 consecutive goals without the other team toucking the ball, but still be on the losing side.

So I asked him one,how much would you have to stake in a horse race to win £1,if the horse you backed was evens and dead heated.

YOU GOT ANY IDEAS?

1. a - goal (I think), b - corner

2. from kick off, kicks the ball forward but the wind blows it back into his own goal three times?

1. a. Goal.

b. Corner.

2. I think this is it - first goal is an own-goal, second goal is scored directly from the re-start, and is the last kick of the first half, and third goal is scored directly from the kick-off of the second half.

1. Both of these result in a corner. What, even the Direct? Yes, from Law 13:

THE DIRECT FREE KICK - Ball Enters the Goal

* if a direct free kick is kicked directly into the opponents' goal, a goal is awarded.

* if a direct free kick is kicked directly into the team's own goal, a corner kick is awarded to the opposing team

p.s. Mr Smudge, you know full well that there are no 'rules' in football :coffee (2):

Could it be that team 'A' kick off and go two nil up the player in question scores on the stroke of half time.Team 'B' kick off and the player scores again in injury time and the ref blows up for full time .BUT, because its a cup match there is extra time and having won the toss team 'B' kick off he scores for a third time but alas team 'A' score two more after and the game is lost. Or somethin like that. I await your answer with with baited breath Smudge.

You cannot win anything if your horse dead heats at Even Money.

For example, if you put £100 on, you lose half your stake as you have only half a winner. So you would be given £50 at evens = £100 return (ie your money back)!
