Kimble,I have a theory about lack of news about signings and injuries etc.Club chairman usually like to get a level of information out but Colin as we know is a manager and very much a football man and they tend to keep their cards close to their chests

Firstly, the point someone makes about more news on signings etc. This is one of my annoyances with Dagenham. We get so little news and articles on the website compared to most other Clubs at our present level. You go on say Orient's forum, and there will be 4 or 5 articles on a lot of days, on various stuff, on ours you can go 3 or 4 days with nothing new at all posted. Some may not agree, but websites in the modern world are a pretty important way of communicating with people, and not only can they attract new fans, they can enthuse those existing/floating fans.

 

MisUnderstood makes a fair point about what level a Club is at I think. I think sometimes brief success or the promise of progress from the Powers That Be makes fans forget what has gone before for the majority of their history and what their natural level is. For instance, I know if Dagenham go down this season (50/50 at mo) people will be saying we should go straight back up next year and be this and that. But in reality, being halfway down League Two would still in many ways be above our natural and historic level. Likewise for Hornchurch, yes there was an short era in Conf South and the Ryman Prem (when it was a step higher), but for most of your history you were 1 or 2 steps lower than you are now, so in reality you are in some respects already punching above your weight??

 

Gooner, you may want to have a chat with Deaders at the darts or at some other time. He organises loads of social events and other stuff at the Cricket Club which has bought in a lot of money, and built up general enthusiasm, so you may be able to share some ideas??
