the last few times we have played them in preseason they have looked to have quite a few decent players particularly going forward

Have to agree with this. Sweets did as well as he possibly could in trying circumstances and I for one wish him all the best ........ unless he meets us in the FA Cup.......

I still believe that Derek Sweetman was treated rather unfairly by some people on this board, who seemed to consider anything less than a promotion push that season completley unacceptable. Indeed, some people wrote him off right from the very beginning. Given the debacle of the 2 preceding years, a promotion push was hardly likely was it? Yes, some of the performances that season were awful, but no more so than some of the ones under Bateman IMHO. Some of the people who have being saying "get behind the team" after such performances really ought to have done so that particular season as well!

Looks like Holyport won the Floodlit Cup last night too, beating Abingdon Town 3-0. Congrats to Derek and his team.

They also have a second cup final on Monday against Ardley Town.
