It did'nt work with the last ' marquee' manager in Yorath, who was not in touch with the ryman league.

OK -CK has lower league background and but it was a few years ago -does he still have lower league connections with players-i simply do not know.

6 years is quite a long time-we all age in that time.

Is CK still 'up ' for managing and november nights out in barren Essexx -Yorath was'nt.

We all may hate to admit it-but when you get to mid fifties-do you really want that any more ?

In your 50's are you sufficiently 'in touch' with 19 year old players- ?

I fear it could be another Yorath situation if CK is appointed

Just my opinon Michael re : Yorath. Given a few seasons I DO believe he could have adjusted & got us back to a better position. Anyway we wont know now will we, either way?

As for your comment :" In your 50's are you sufficiently 'in touch' with 19 year old players"- ? I can assure you that when I get to that age I personally won't be dong anything of the sort I can assure you of that :)

Just in time for you to wish him all the best despite not wanting him in charge. Understandable from somebody who doesn't know who Steve West or Ben Clarke are / were o suppose. It's obviously ok to be a new supporter but its something else to make 100s of posts in a few months and doubt CK (he was a previous manager of ours) and suggest somebody like Julian Dicks (done nothing as a manager) or another 'big name' when that never works in non league football. We have a golden chance here to rectify probably the most stupid managerial decision in MFC'S history ie firing CK.

Psych, admittedly I have only supported margate about 10 years and I say 'only' because in the grand scheme of things that isn't a long time when others on here have probably supported margate 30,40,50+ years...I was just making suggestions about 'a big name' and it was just my opinion, just like everyone has an opinion on here...admittedly I'm not a non league expert!

You, like Joseba seem to have all the answers.........why didnt you apply for the managers job?

Whats your problem pal?. Can we not express our views without immature comments like that being thrown back at us?. Besides,I did & they couldn't match my demands :97:

Enthusiasm and energy are important for a non-league manager. Lots of hours on the road travelling to games to watch players and opposing teams. TY resigned, remember. His health wasn't the best, after all. He was also used to working with better players. I think sometimes he asked our players to do things they weren't really familiar with. CK's great asset is that he knows to keep things simple (and that doesn't always equate to long ball football). Is he in touch with 19-year-olds? Not entirely sure what this means but we can always give him some Dizzee Rascal songs to listen to. Seriously, he has been scouting for Wolves for the last few years so he'll be aware of the talent that is out there. As long as CK is up for it (and I doubt he would accept the job if he wasn't) why not?

Pretty simple to me, since CK left (or was he pushed ) we have tried, a young player/ manager, an ex perienced ex International Manager, a ex top class International goal keeper, a tried and trusted Ryman league manager, an ex Gate legend, and now an assistant from the "good old days", whats the common denominator ? all couldnt hold a candle to what was achieved under CK.

If he wanted the job he should be welcomed back with open arms, and given the support from the board he needs, how can we go backwards from where we are now, in my view its not possible.

It will generate tremendous positive media attention, and I would have a small wager that the attendances would increase just because of his return,

BRING IT ON !!!!!
