Scoreline flattered canvey to be honest,we looked dangerous first twenty minutes,then Canvey scored,we struggled to get going again before half time.

Second half we battered them for a good 20 minutes with some good chances but failed to take them.A decent shout for a penalty turned down for us and then they got us on the break.Bechet took their player down,penalty and sending off,no arguements from most of us.After that a 3rd followed as Elliot was in goal but made a couple of good stops.

To be honest out of all the clubs in the play off places canvey are the worst we have played despite scoring 6 against us with no reply.

 

Lowestoft,bury,tonbridge,Harrow should all beat them given home advantage

Saying that they were better than concord,kingstonian,cray and us over both games

 

As for the little kids,our youngsters should just learn to ignore them,our youngsters give as good as they got but the stewards moved them on when they started abusing an elderly fan which was not really on,especially as the stewards were just standing there doing nothing.

Really don't understand why we retaliated to kids about 5 years younger than us. As for the play offs I think its fair to say we can wave them goodbye

Agree with what was said.

Scoreline did flatter Canvey, but at the end of the day they got the ball in the back of the net and we didn't.

We need to look at the service we give to the strikers for next season.

Canvey will have to perform better if they are going to succeed in the playoffs.

Didn't see clearly what happened with their pen, but the ref was well placed so no complaints from me

I think you're being a tad optimistic in your appraisal, apart from the goal I don't think either team had too many shots on target until the pen.

Canvey certainly deserved the win however.

Shedboy,you were the better side but 3-0 seriously flattered you,for the first 20 minutes of the 2nd half you couldn't get near us,then the penalty came and that was that.You could of got 5 but that would of only been after the sending off mate.

We always planned on leaving straight after the game so we could get back to watch the semi final.Good luck with the play offs but I think you need home advantage to stand a chance

I don't understand how/why we didn't turn up today....it was a must win game?

We created minimal chances and got what we deserved.

Canvey fully deserved their win and best of luck to them in the play-offs....just wish we wouldn't roll over whenever we need an important performance.

Kimble I disagree slightly,I thought our spell in the first 20 mins of second half had canvey all over the place,had the sending off incident not happened I think we would of gone on to get something from the game,saying that we do have a tendency to switch off at the back

Just as it's time to get rid of the 2 year ban for charlie in team sports - and extend it to 4 or even life for steroids or EPO in track and field.

I'm no expert but this is what I think.

 

We try the ball over the top too much. The centre halves are reading it and then it ends up a straight battle in the air and as good as Tuohy and Smith are, that's not their strength.

Canvey's number 5 won every ball he competed for in the air. That means our forwards then have to drop into midfield in order to get the ball back and then there's no-one in the box to score the goals.

We're more dangerous when we're attacking from midfield and then that gives our forwards a chance to do what they're supposed to do. That's what we did in the first part of the second half and Canvey were struggling.

 

A lack of goals have cost us this season. We lost two cup matches despite having the majority of possesion because we couldn't score.

I do agree with you r but I think we only had them on the back foot as we were obviously chasing the game....I don't believe we would have played like that if the scoreline was 0.0 for instance...which is/was so disappointing as I believe on paper we have the better XI

I do think there is something in the way we start games,it is almost as if we start not to lose the game and become more adventurous later in the game,but yesterday we was one down when we really shouldn't of been

You're better than us, no mistake there (two 3-0 defeats proved that)

I have seen teams play better than that against us this season however.

Playoffs are a lottery as last season showed so you're in with a chance.

If you start a game with the intention of not losing then how can you hope to win the game? After all it was a must win game, so we needed the first goal so that Canvey would need to chase the game. We needed to have more tempo at the start like we had at the beginning of the second half in order to possibly get the goal. It was more evident at Horsham, though the goal never came, even with a large number of corners and intense pressure at the start of that match. We have not scored enough goals to win games when we are on top. Carshalton was a game where we did this, and that result was welcoming.

 

Still, lets just enjoy the last 3 games and hopefully some of the good football we have seen before will be on show now without pressure on us to get a result.
