I should be working

Althouth ultimately results should mean bigger gates i have to say League postions (which of course are influenced by results),or infact which league you are in is far more important. If you look at the stats for this season (League games only) i think it paints an interesting picture

During Aug we had 3 matches Drawn 2 Lost 1 2 home games avg gate 557

During Sept we had 4 matches Won 3 Lost 1 2 home games avg gate 324

During Oct we had 5 matches Won 1 Drawn 2 Lost 2 2 home games avg gate 344

During Nov we had 6 matches Won 1 Drawn 2 Lost 3 4 home games avg gate 332

During Dec we had 1 match Lost 1 1 home game avg gate 371

During Jan we had 7 matches Won 3 Drawn 2 Lost 2 3 home games avg gate 242

During Feb we had 4 matches Won 1 Drawn 1 Lost 2 1 home game avg gate 341

During March we had 6 matches Won 2 Drawn 1 Lost 3 3 home games avg gate 301

So despite performance, "unless the view is the performance for the season has been the same" the gate does not change all season. I would open up for debate the following Unless we are in the top five places early next season we would still only get circa 300-350, top 5 places may get us 350-500. But i would be surprised if gates go 500+ unless we get to Conference South.

Again not trying to prove anything just looking at stats.

Welll you can't 'argue' with facts as presented-albeit i think improved results would bring greater attendances.

2 other significant factors i think-again the stats would show if i am corect-but we seem to have a great habit of losing the game immediately before the next home game, and so there is always a bit of a downer leading up to a home game-which manifests itself in keeping the marginal supporter away.

The othwer key thing is our abysmal cup form-and i include KSC and league cup-the longer you can keep these going-the more interest it reates and helps keep the crowd up and attending the league games alongside the cup games in October/november (if we get that far )and then there is another much smaller boost if we can kep the cup run in the ksc and league cup going in the months of jan and Feb.

I don't mean that the cup attendances will be great-but they do have a spin offf in keeping interst up which manifests itself in slightly higher league attendances.

Disappointingly this season, thew club has worked hard off field to keep up interset-eshots and newsletters-yet attendances are down and we have slipped badlly down the ryman attendance league-worrying.

However-the club must perservere wioth these initiatives-keep it going-they will slowly pay off.

keep the faith-up the 'Gate

We still have the ninth highest average crowd, in previous years we've been fifth or sixth so not a great slip. The main problem is the abysmal home performances - the only games that 90 per cent of our fans see. How many good ones have there been? A handful.

True and those of us who are lucky enough to go to away games keep saying how well we play away from home.

Then last Saturday we are served up that embarassing tripe.

Must do better today or ther will be more Lowestoft and Kingstonian fans than Margate ones at the last 2 matches.
