Congrats on winning your cup final last night, you defended very well after taking the lead. Manor looked tired after three games in 3 games in six days but if you dont score you dont win so well done Hullbridge.

Coachy, as someone who actually tends to stick up for you, I was shocked although maybe unsuprised by your comments last night when leaving the pitch - but guess thats the way you roll (literally).

Enjoy 'your day' and good luck in your quest to reach your target = the dizzy heights of 7th place in the Essex Senior League - a position in which you said you 'would acheive' in the local rag.

See you next season, hopefully with Manor restoring order and winning the game and going another 5 years before losing in the league against Hullbridge. Good luck with the rest of your season.

Ouch that hurts!!grin.gif Comments aimed at your manager that likes a tete-tete with the officials at half-time trying to influence a referee that wasn't having the best of the games and for his technical area invasion when he nicked a match ball desperate to restart the play....priceless!!!It made my daydance%20(2).gifWhat goes around comes around considering that you have been reported by more than one club for you adagio, lento, veloce introduction of the ball depending if you were winning or losing.Ciaoooexcited.gif

JJ , the ball incident is not new. When we went to Hullbridge with Concord Coachie was seen kicking all the match balls into the field behind , shortly after Hullbridge had scored an equaliser with 20 minutes left. For the last 20 we had 1 ball !

Trenks that is when his trousers fell down when he jumped up! classic

Well said JJ, let Hullbridge(Enrico) have their(his) moment. 10 years as Hullbrideg manager and he has been out shone by Gary Morris who was there just one season as Reserve Manager.

Did you know they won the fair play award though?

I will put my fishing rod away. Wouldn't say it was hullbridge cup final we defended well and should of been more comfortable winners if we had taken more chances! And the ball trick is standard I've seen russ do it for yrs. On to ref another classic display from a senior league ref think he got every 50-50 wrong thankfully no decisions that effected game.

Only a little nibblegrin.gifActually you can ask Fred Smith I brought 9 match balls out that day just to please that PE teacher that was moaning like hell after 30 minutes. You had one ball but didn't know what to do with it sinking in the Hullbridge Russian marshes!lol

I missed the first 30 minutes of the game last night, but arrived just in time to see a well taken goal from Stanners and the rest of an evenly contested first half.

The second half was a scrappy affair, but it was Manor who took the initiative, tried to get the ball down and dominated in regards to possession. A great run form the centre forward (who looked reasonably sharp) forced a great save from Jason Baker, but other than that, Manor were mainly limited to half chances by a resolute Hullbridge defense.

Having said that, Hullbridge probably had the better chances after a couple of rate counter attacks. With 20 mins to go I thought the introduction of Wilf Miska could have been a game changer and potentially earned Manor a point only to realise he wasn’t on the bench…doh…!!!

If it was down to posession I think Manor deserved a point from the second half, whilst if it was down to chances Hullbridge deserved to hold on to their lead.

The Ref was shocking for both teams as well. If he tossed a coing after every decision he would have made more correct decisions.

Good analysis 'Talk is cheap'. I watched the game and thought Hullbridge defended superbly and although he took the mick out of the officials with his never ending time wasting tactics the keeper pulled off three great saves and credit to Hullbridge. It was their cup final and they played the conditions better than Manor (booting it long) and Hullbridge number 9 was excellent last night by the way.

I take it Coach et 64 is the Hullbridge Manager and some of the things he has said on this forum are quite disrespectful, I was speaking to a few Manor players afterwards and I think they would much rather be one win away from a cup final and one win away from 4th place in the league rather than challenging for 8th position with Mauritius and Eton Manor.

What about the rest of the season? Doesnt it begin in August?

I just hope Coachie kept up his trait of not shaking the opposing managers hand after the game !!!

Win or lose you have to show some kind of decorum.

I've bit my tongue for a few weeks now but after some of the comments from the Hullbridge manager on here, albeit after a period of him going missing, his return coinceided with them beating Stansted, I feel it's time to elaborate. We beat Hullbridge 3-0 at home I went over to the Hullbridge bench to shake hands, did so with Johnnie Ray (a true gent) went over to Enrico and he just walked away. Not really the actions of a manager.

I've had to shake hands with managers that I can't stand, refs who I thought have had a nightmare but at the end of the day nothing you can do about it once the final whistle has gone.

As I've found out this year there is a way to lose and a way to win.

Bakes, football is about opinions and in my opinion Hullbridge were not 'deserved winners', Sealsey made one save all night. Saying that though, Hullbridge battled well and did not deserve to lose either. Patto had a few efforts off traget, Manor hit the post and your brother made a couple of cracking stops.

On the ref - wow, he was dreadful. I wanted to win the game so I could rant about him afterwards as doing now would seem like sour grapes. He was awful for both teams, infact he was that bad, you started to get used to his weird decisions - you could tell he was Irish.

Coachy - enjoy your first league win over Manor, well done. And good luck again on aiming for the skies in 8th spot -x- We all celebrate but your comments were laughable.

Trenks/Smallsy, I never mentioned the balls thing in my original post but WOW - it was an embarrasing stage last night, Laurel and Hardy (Coachie and his Lurch like assitant) were a joke. The ball thing happens at all clubs, but playing for time (and Bridge players) from the half hour mark onwards shows what a scalp last night was for Hullbridge Sports and Social Club.

I think you haven't lost only your football ability but your memory as well travelling all over the Far East...maybe George Cheesewright,Dan Barrington and Wes Bockings will reminder you that it's not the only win for Hullbridge....I heard your Russell moaning about a £ 200 win bonus missing...unlucky try next grin.gif I wouldn't like to think what can happen if that Laurel knows how you called him on here...I have seen him years ago when you was still a Whitecaps baby dealing with few Canvey supporters...you'll have to take early retirement.Nice one at the end when you decided to sulk outside...we showed you we are different class and no banging on walls aka Onebreast when is looking for a burger after match!lol

always good to see smallsy pipe up with nonsense as always!!!!! same old same old? how did u get on at bowers this season make? oh yeah i remember now?!?!?!?!?! i watched the manor game last night i thought manor dominated for periods actually, with the hullbridge forwards missing a couple of decent half chances. the goal was very well taken from dan stanley, i thought also the hullbridge goalkeeper had a top game making numerous stops most notabley in the last minute with the best chance of the game. credit where credits due hullbridge defended there goal well and should be happy with the win!!! two good wins in a week for them beating stansted and manor.
